One of the primary concerns I have, is that mypens used CC instead of blind carbon copy to email you guys.

Now everyone that has ever registered here has access to our mailing list.

Agreed. That should piss EVERYONE off that Mike did that, if not, they are fools.
Good thing I use my secondary email account for message boards and such.
If it was my primary account, I would be pissed beyond belief.

Ohio and Prescott are tools for what they have done.
They cant promote their message board on their own so they get an influential young adult to do their dirty work.
AMAZING if anyone doesnt see this.

This board has taken some directions in the recent past that doesnt make me happy, but I cannot be happy 100% of the time.
This site is the best message board out there. Beckett and CI (wow that site looks like CRAP) are both run by fumbling morons.
I for one am happy to hear that Gilmore make some money running this place, that is why it looks and runs as well as it does.
Keep up the good work fellas!!!!

It is scary, even if you dont do anything wrong. Because who states what is wrong. It is a paranoid mindset.

That is a similar argument people use to say illegal search and seizures are ok in cases.

I do

And nothing against you as you seem to be a good guy, But IMHO but one peson should not have that control with private messages.

I really don't want to get in the middle of this, but something was said by Mike and others that I do agree with: I don't completely agree with the direction of the site either.

Not that that's a bad thing. There are a lot more pros than cons about this site.

My biggest problem is one of the same problems that we had on Beckett. There are still the ******** who feel the need to talk down to everyone, every time they make a post. I know this site has grown by leaps and bounds, but that's not good for the site. The running joke is the #1 rule is don't be a dick, but there are a few that wouldn't be able to post if they weren't being a dick. One of the biggest ones is a moderator on this site.

Hands down, this is the best sports card message board on the internet, even if it's mostly you damn prospectors. ;) Chris, you deserve all the thanks in the world for what you do for this site. I know you have ponied up a lot of time and money to make this such a great place. I know bouwob and NEC and the mod staff help in other ways as well. Thank you to all of you.

PER TOS:

"In an effort to keep the message boards and the chat area safe and friendly for everyone, we have several active moderators and administrators who examine the message boards on a daily basis. In order to maintain certain standards of the website, note that your "private" messages can be accessed, and will be accessed if the administrative (not moderation) staff feels that it needs to do so to maintain the integrity of the site."

That answers your question.

You agree to it by joining the site.

SCARY!!!

It shouldn't be.

It is a statement/rule that basically is a precaution taken to make sure all other rules are followed.

As long as you abide by the laws of the site, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

i disagree.

Then you should not have agreed to the TOS at the time of signup.
Plain and simple.

From what I recall Mike made the BMB boards got a lot of members on there then we figured out it was necessary for a board switch. We all agreed we would make a site [Chris and Mike agreed too] and the boards decided on freedomcardboard.com so Chris said he would start up the site and run it and that is that. We all think of the Mike as the founder that got us all to here, but I did lose respect for him that he used this site for the mailing list to spam everyone with new site [which he didn't create, right?] in which I still don't understand even after reading the email. He had the opportunity to take more responsibility and talk to Chris which he didn't...

so why do you oppose it now instead of fighting the rules when they were originally made?

Why are you always trying to provoke an argument? You should really relax when the thing in question really does not pertain to you in the least. I dont like to call people out, but lately it has been incessant.

i'd chalk it up to age, or lack thereof

I am not provoking anything. I want to see where they are coming from. I provided them the rule from the TOS, and now that they have said that, I questioned their previous actions (or lack thereof) and why they have made it a problem now.

I have no intention to start an argument.

Thank you

If that is the case, then you need to read the TOS, decide if you agree with it.
If you do, then you should continue to post here.
If you dont, then you should find a different forum to post in. One that you agree with the TOS.

We don't directly access anyone's pms unless there is evidence that person is ripping someone off.

I noticed that as well. There are probably going to be a few people who are VERY unhappy about this. I'm one of them.

Didn't the same thing happen for the collector revolution site? I remember seeing a huge list of email addresses...

The TOS of a website, if they are created post-creation of the site, are not created with input from the members. They had no say. In defense of the site, even though the TOS were created after some members had originally signed up, the TOS is clearly posted at the top of the forums visible for all to read. If you use these forums, it is assumed that you have read the TOS and agree to abide by the terms of said TOS. If not, as I stated earlier, choose not to use the forums. Its really a simple thing to understand. EOM!

Using this logic.....

Since i admit that i have a quirky sense of humor, i can see humor in someone yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded movie theater, or someone yelling "BOMB!" at the airport.

since in america, thats is frowned upon and im pretty sure its against the law, does that mean i should move?

We did not run anything against nextlevel, it was done against the entire board.
