New member here. My name is Wayne and primarily collect Barry Bonds and Pete Rose. Collecting was a childhood hobby that I left for about 10 years. I pulled some of the cards out of the closet about 1-year ago and got interested in the hobby again. Boy, how the hobby has changed!!

New member here. Brian, 33, track coach and teacher from Kansas.

Jaypers can vouch I'm a good guy and fellow prospector.

Glad to be back into cards! I've been out of it for a while now. I started online back in 1994 with cards. My first ever online transaction was for a Ben Grieve Topps Traded rookie. haha! I've come a long way since then. Started prospecting pretty intensely with 1999 Bowman Chrome and then moved onto Exquisite by the time I got out of college and had a decent paycheck which to blow on cards. I'll get my photobucket link working here soon although most of that good stuff is long gone.

Anyway, I'm curious what you Baseball America prospecting gurus think about Bubba Starling's baseball potential. I've known Bubba and his family for about four years now. He's put our entire town on the map. Great family, great young man. Very leveled head. We'll see if he signs wherever he's drafted or heads to Nebraska. But I'd love to gain some insight from everyone on his abilities on the diamond. I'm the public address announcer for football and basketball games here (teach English and coach track too) and I can tell you with 100% certainty he's the greatest high school athlete I've ever seen in person. His 4.36 40 that he ran last spring was digital and he's faster this year! His last football game this season he rushed, as the QB, for 396 yards and 5 TDs on 31 carries against the eventual state champions. If he ran track...well...don't get me started. I spend most days trying not to think of all I could do on the track with his talent. haha

I don't plan to SUPER collect him but I've picked up a few of his cards and hope to get some more as time goes on. I was telling Jaypers that I didn't get back into cards until a week ago when Bubba walked into my classroom, handed me one of his Bowman Chromes that he signed personally to me. Crazy feeling let me tell ya! ha Since then I've busted 2 cases of 2010 Bowman Chrome and have one more on the way. Sit on it??

Looking forward to trading/buying/selling with everyone.

Budget collector from Montreal, Canada here! I'm not a big-time collector, but have been doing a lot of reading from lurking in forums (BO is another one where I started posting as "Nafi"). I briefly collected hockey cards growing up 20 years ago right when UD made its first foray into hockey. I have a few Score Lindros RC if anyone wants them!

My favorite of the 4 major sports is now baseball (was very sad when the Expos left); so that's what I started to collect when I came back into hobby 9 years ago. That's when Pujols/Ichiro hit the hobby as I got my university degree (and some disposable income). I collected only the Bowman and Bowman DP&P sets from each year. I didn't care for the "hits" and mostly bought hand collated sets or boxes on the cheap to build my sets. Stopped for past 6 years (had 2 kids) and now just got back in it this past June - a bit late to cash in on Strasburg-mania. Paid through the nose for my 2010 Bowman set.

A lot has changed in this hobby from my view while I was on hiatus :
- With the Expos gone, collecting baseball is not as easy in Montreal. Luckily there's the internet. (Sportlots - how easy it is to complete sets now! and COMC)
- Bowman set spread/packaged across different releases is annoying
- Box breaks on Youtube (6 years ago, it was hard to get collation info on the web). I'm addicted to watching them but I find it a bit shocking to see kids busting premium boxes. 250$ for a box with 4 cards!!!! I didn't have that kind of money back then!

I'm looking to catch up on my Bowman sets. I also started doing TTM auto requests and trying to get one certified auto of each Canadian born (current) MLB player. Still looking for Morneau and Votto on the cheap!

So that's who I am and love the boards here. Thanks for reading!

Hi there! As you can tell, I'm a huge Mets fan and I love collecting. I've been collecting for just over two years, and I've had a great time. I collect baseball, football and basketball, and I PC the Mets (specifically Ike Davis and David Wright) and the NY Football Giants. I look forward to being a contributor on FCB!

Hola! I mostly collect old stuff, but I do rip modern stuff all the time (Bowman, Chrome, A&G, Heritage, etc.) Just thought I'd join to learn about the latest "hot" cards and what not. Looking forward to learning my way around, I use the same screenname on several other boards so I may know a few of you here.

Hello everyone.

I'm a SF Giants fan who was lucky enough to see them play at AT&T Park during their WS winning season.

I don't collect much these days, but I like ripping the occasional modern low end pack. I have been reading these boards for awhile and I have enjoyed many threads, including the 90's insert thread. Thanks!

I'm most definitely not new, but I am back after a significant hiatus so I figured I would stop in, say hi, and see how many people are still around from back in the day on the Night Crew BMB that I would know? :)

For all you that don't know me, I'm a sophomore in college, been participating in message-boarding with some of these guys for the better part of a decade, I've been collecting baseball cards since I was in my single digits for age, and I love my Minnesota Twins. I also have a Torii Hunter collection that I enjoy but haven't been able to add on to it in quite some time. Haven't had the time or money for collecting in recent years because of college but I'm hoping to get back into it once I have a little more disposable income. Biggest hobby regret? Selling my Team Topps Legends Autographs Nolan Ryan auto 3 years ago. :/

P.S.- I have an unhealthy obsession with House M.D., CSI Las Vegas, and most movies and music in general. I have over 500 movies and 15,000 songs at my disposal...

Like the poster above I too have been away for a little while and I am about to begin a climb back into the hobby. I just wanted to drop in and say hello and I am glad to finally be getting back into things!

Greetings. This looks like a fairly active board so thought I'd join and explore around. My collecting interest is primarily autographs, especially signed rookie cards. I've got a decent sized collection of them, but always looking for something that might interest me.

Hello my name is Jeremy but everyone calls me "JB" I live in Ft Worth, TX

I started collecting again in 2008 and have used the Beckett website for most of that time period have a trading buddy that sent me over here.
I collect a little of everything but mostly Autos/RCs in Baseball and Football.
Focus on Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers, Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, Mark Sanchez, Adrian Peterson, Kevin Durant and Dallas Cowboys and just starting to get into Prospecting more.
Always looking for Superstar and HOF'er Autos and enjoy picking up more vintage (Mantle, Mays, Aaron etc)

Josh Hamilton is my main collecting focus: I completed the Finest Rainbow (no plates) and I just need the 1/1 for 2010 Topps Chrome.
