I guess I am being counted as new. I'm Tom and I'm glad to be here with a shot to make some deals.
I am a supercollector of Ryan Garko and also collect Pirates Prospect Gift Ngoepe. I've been working on picking up some PC pieces so I can stash them away. Also working on completing Topps baseball sets.

I already know some of you, met a few more the last few days, and looking forward to meeting more of you.

Greg Brown here. I was on the beckett boards for over 10 years but I was just informed of this board from one of my collecting friends, so I'm happy to find it. I recognize a few members already, so that is good news!

I remember you, Mr. Brown. Something about you, a young grasshopper (or was it the Hulkster? Easy to get the nicknames mixed up, it's been while), and an igloo salesman from Canada...sounds like the beginning of a bad joke.

LOL - yes Greg that's right. I was YG (young Grasshopper), Bill was HULK SMASH! and Ty was the used igloo salesmen back in our glory days. Bill emailed me to check out this place. I'm liking it so far!

I'm a "new" sign-up... so... hi! I'm Joe, I'm a Yankees fan but don't necessarily collect Yankees cards. I love relics like it's 1999, don't care much for sticker autographs (because I enjoy TTM), and enjoy collating low- to mid-range sets (Masterpieces, Heroes, Topps, etc). Serial numbering does nothing for me (feels so... arbitrary), nor does the manufactured patch craze. I enjoy watching/reading breaks of high end product but the most expensive box I've ever purchased for myself was '08 Ballpark Collection, though I fall prey to the occasional pack of Sweet Spot at my LCS.

Hi everyone,

I'm technically not a new member because I've been lurking here for over a year, but this is my first post. I've been collecting online for the last five and a half years or so, and I've racked up 500+ trades over at The Bench during that time. My current project is Marco Scutaro stuff, and I've been having the most fun I've had with the hobby in years picking up hard to find inserts and base cards for a guy who has less than 100 cards produced.

Thanks to all the members here for providing me with so much free entertainment and knowledge over the last year, and I look forward to trading and talking with you all!

Regards,
Mike
Hi Mike!

Sox fan huh? I am going to assume Red Sox fan since you live/lived in MA?

If so....welcome aboard! :)

GL with the Scutaro collection 8-)

Hey guys,

I guess I've been very slow in joining up. I was a member of the old beckett forums and knew much of you here. I used to collect Ryan Zimmerman and had a bunch of good stuff from him so maybe that helps people remember who I am? haha I haven't been collecting cards over the past year as much as I've been focusing on collecting factory sealed video games primarily vintage Mario games :D I've recently getting the bite from this again as the new 09 Ultimate baseball has pulled me back!

Welcome to all the new guys!

Thank you for your words of welcome. The people here seem very friendly and I am happy that I joined. Although I wish that I joined a year ago when tmb started going downhill.

Hey Jason, you had the same user name on Beckett, didn't you? I totally remember you. welcome aboard, those 09 ultimates sure are some nice cards. Im sure they are dragging a bunch of people back into the hobby. Great sets like this only come around once and awhile.

Hey, I'm Brandon. Was active on BMB from 99-00 until it went incredibly downhill with changes in late 07-08. All I've got left is a sweet Kemp RC collection, some nice Ver's, J-Up and Helly to go with a bunch of random rc auto/ rc parallels under $50. Haven't busted much wax since an opening week bonanza of 07 eee and sterling which treated me well. 2 of the Kemp 1/1 rc's were my last purchase, and from a board member :) All other Kemp's were purchased before or during 06, mostly for dirt. Just from reading on this board the last 2 weeks, the hobby is becoming interesting again. UD is finally going to put out products this year it should have value wise for the last decade(well as long as they can). Last resort before going out of business, thanks! People keep spending lots of money on "fake"/2nd year rc auto's. Can't see this getting any better as the years go on, as long as companies make good money off of them. One of the reasons stopped buying. AH 2005 BC and BDP, added numbering to auto's again and great look/checklist. Best year of the 2000's, better than 02. I see a lot better group of prospectors on here than I did on BMB. The guy with the Montero stash is crazy, although I believe he was a reg on BMB. I think he has more 9.5 chrome's of Montero himself, than Kemp had in all BC parallels combined in 05. Good Job putting the eggs in the right basket. He was an obvious choice. Why his cards didn't go absolutely nuts when he was on fire before getting injured, still can't figure out. I love Heyward, but how prices are greater than that of Upton and Kemp right now is beyond me. Both Kemp and Upton could go .310 110 35 35 110 this year. Wouldn't that mean best player(s) in baseball? Not to mention Kemp's Major League leading 30 OFA's the last 2 years.
