WoW. I have to say the rockies are getting a hell of a deal here...

No joke. I think that may end up being one of the best deals ever for the Rockies. That's a big deal for Jimenez. We'll see how it turns out I guess, but I would think the Rockies are going to be very happy. What happened to White and Pomeranz being "untouchable" a few days ago

The Indians making this trade and not being afraid to send top prospects shows ownership means business and this means a lot to Cleveland Fans. The Dolans have been known to be cheap. This changes things a little.

A couple of B/B+ pitching prospects for a B+ MLB pitcher. Seems to be a good deal all around here.

Yep. I'm an Indians fan and even I believe at this point they have no chance at the postseason this year. What good does adding Ubaldo to the rotation when their current offense is almost a sure bet not to put up any runs for him? I've been saying this for days. They needed a big bat, didn't get one, and went after Ubaldo instead. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. I hope Ubaldo likes losing a TON of low scoring games, because the Tribe offense is totally pathetic. How a GM trades for a stud pitcher to help his team win now, when the glaring problem has been offense for the past three months is beyond me. Eventually I can easily see this trade costing GM Chris Antonetti his job.

Tribe offense:
1 unearned run on Wednesday (no-hit)
0 runs Friday
0 runs (and 1 hit) through 4 1/3 innings tonight

The Indians should have kept both White and Pomeranz just from observing the pattern that's been happening since their 30-15 start. They are 22-36 since that time, and the overwhelming reason for it has been no offense. Unless they plan on making an unexpected deal for a big bat before 4:00 tomorrow they really screwed up. They should have improved the offense over the offseason and then kept White and Pomeranz for the future.

Apparently Ubaldo just went out to the bullpen to get loose for his start and hasn't been scratched.

bizarre

Perhaps they are looking for a better third player? I do hope he doesn't get hurt, or blown up, here. :?

In a press conference with the GM this week he said that no one was untouchable if they got high quality back in return.

That said, I think they just signed a pitcher who will end up losing a lot of games because he will get no run support. Because they didn't end up adding any players that would significantly improve their offense, they should have passed on Jimenez and kept White/Pomeranz for next year and beyond.

If Kipnis is included I won't be as sad. However, if Matt McBride is the third guy, what a turd move.....I'm happy with Pomeranz, but I don't think White is going to stay healthy. Thanks for throwing in the towel O'Dowd.

Like this trade for my American League only fantasy league team. Having White just landed me Ubaldo, and my weakness is SP and Ks

Yankees backed out of a trade because they couldn't do a physical on Ubaldo.

What do you do with a pitcher for 14 days that cant be traded until August 15th ?
