I mean he loses some of his value in the lineup as a second baseman who is supposed to have a good bat...although he hasn't exactly lived up to offensive expectations yet.

There are lots of outfielders who can hit...not nearly as many second basemen who provide an offensive presence in the lineup.

Confirmed by scout and Nick Franklin himself said that is what the organization has told him.

Yuck. Not happy with this move. Ackley turned into a good defensive second baseman and doesn't provide enough with the bat to be a corner outfielder.

Let's hope this isn't the Mariners big off season move.

Possibly = Could be another OF spot or even another team in a trade as Seattle has some good young middle IF, but Left Field is where he will be come next year.
