Eagles Get Ernie Sims, Tony Scheffler to the Lions

That is a redundant statement. I don't mind them getting Sheffler. I think they are just dumping Sims contract. He has never lived up to the 1st round pick. My only issue is this really points out what a wasted pick Pettigrew was last year! They had the worst defense of alltime and 2 first rounders to fix it. What do the Lions do, draft QB, TE!?!?! That shows that Mr. Ford is doing the drafting for this team. Millen is gone, and they still draft all offense. Don't be surprised if they take Spiller with the 2nd pick.

I think that we have fixed are defense dramatically this offseason. Last years draft there was no defensive player that had a chance to go #1 overall. No one wanted to trade with us for the pick. We did the smart move an drafted Stafford. Alot of people wanted us to wait a year because this years crop of QB's where so good they thought 5-6 would go in the first round (bradford, tebow, mccoy, snead, claussen) an look at what would of happened if we waited there.

I dont think the Pettigrew pick was a waste. We now will run a 2 TE set with better blocking for the QB an nice dump off receivers for Stafford when he gets into trouble. Yes last year i wish they would of picked the blindside OT Oher but we didnt. This draft will be more defensive based. I am expecting maybe 2 Offensive picks the whole draft an OT, RB and at worse another WR but that isnt a bad thing a WR in the 7th round who could do kick returns.

What u r ignoring is the lions are not in a position to draft a te I'm the first round! A team like the volts can afford a luxury pick like that, but not the lions.

A Te isnt the luxury pick it use to be. A TE is very useful in today's passing NFL. I would of loved to have Michael Oher an i think that would of been the right pick. I was watching the Draft last year an just cussing at the screen when we made the pick i was so pissed. But i live with it now. An i didnt ignore this fact in the last post either i wrote
