Love the deal as an Eagles fan. People are looking at it like McCoy for Alonso when thats not what the deal is. We are saving around 8 million off the cap by trading mccoy and its rumored that the Eagles were going to Cut McCoy if they couldn't get a deal done. Alonso and Kendricks at LB? Sign me up.
This is set up to be a huge offseason for philadelphia with around 50 million in cap space!
It's still an awful deal for the Iggles IMO.
You HAVE to get a high Pick, at least a 3rd, preferably a 2nd, which in Buffalo's spot would be perfect to draft a good RB in a deep draft for that position.
As far as trading him in the first place, I wouldn't have.
His running style and wiry frame make for a lot less hits than most RBs. Heck, he had 1300+ yards, most of it in last 7 games with back-up QB and was 6th in League in a "down" year...
This is what I was thinking after I let the shock wear off. It all depends on what they do with this cap room.
Another thing being overblown is the # of former Oregon players on the roster. How many are actually expected to contribute? Not many.
Smh.
Running Backs ALWAYS age quicker than every other position.
Not many teams coming off a solid year have 50 million in cap room like the eagles do. Running backs are MUCH easier to replace than LB's.
As long as we can solidify our corner situation and NOT TRADE UP FOR MARIOTA then we will be much improved.
Shady is not a current top 3 back...

1. You didn't read my saying that McCoy's frame and style will age him much better than most RBs.
2. McCoy is a top 3 RB, Kiko is not (at least right now) a top 10 LB. And don't forget he's coming off his 2nd Torn ACL.
3. Rumor has it they are going to trade up for MM IF he falls to the Jets at #6 .
3. "Rumors." That would be an AWFUL trade. Foles behind center with a healthy O Line did very well for us. He should be there and we need to be drafting secondary help.
They are alot more than rumors at this point but I do agree there is no reason to move on from Foles at this point, especially if it costs you a ton of picks.
And McCoy was not the reason they missed the playoffs. Their lack of a deep passing game in the 2nd half of the season and their putrid pass defense are to blame IMO.
This is a good trade. And if you realistically think it is a bad trade you don't know the basics of it. Saving money, trading a back at peak value, and getting a young cost controlled STUD is a fantastic trade. I know this isn't the end all and be all but ESPN graded the trade an A for the Eagles and a C for the Bills. I'll value their opinion a bit more than yours bud.
