Bought a redemption last night for a 2011 bowman auto for $5.55. I told him to scaratch the code and just send me the code and he can keep the shipping tab. Today I get a response

"Good afternoon,
I have had to issue you a refund for your purchase. I tried to expose the redemption code and managed to damage the card, somehow. I will try and get another card from topps, and will let you know if there will be another auction. I am very sorry for my mistake. the refund should be in your PayPal account already.

sincerely,
Jason"

Japanis300:
I accepted his best offer on a card. He then proceeds to tell me that that offer included shipping ($25) and I told him thats not how ebay works. He tried to undermine me but I just canceled the item so I could relist. Do not deal with him, he doesnt know **** about how ebay works.

gochicubs:
6 days still no items in which I needed at the latest by today.

The guy scratched too hard and ruined the card. He apologized, refunded money. What more do you want? He screwed up; he's trying to make it right. People make mistakes.

You can't cancel unilaterally. He still has the right to buy it.

So he waited 3-4 days to ship? OMG. Let's shoot him in the head. Straight 1 DSRs.

You're part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I dont understand.
You tried to be cheap and avoid the shipping charge.
Then the seller agrees to help you out by messaging you the code #, but he probably scratched a bit to hard (its happened to me and others).
Then instead of telling you that you will now have to deal with Topps, he is accepting the blame and refunding your $$$$.

Honestly in this case your the one I would not deal with!

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

Take this however you want, but as a seller who fights the impossible fight of maintaining high DSR's on ebay I wanted to share the story...

Buyer hchefdujour bought and paid for a card from me on June 1st. The card was shipped out via PayPal shipping on June 2nd. On June 8th the seller leaves me positive feedback of "AAA" but that same day I also received a 1 or 2 for shipping time. I made a note and waited for the charts to update to show me my "slow" shipping times by state. After looking into everything this was the only person to buy from the "slow" state so it was easy to trace back. I tried to contact them as to why they dinged me with a low rating, but I have not received a response.

Very rarely does this happen, but I completely agree with Jeff here.

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

What can you do if a seller has blocked you from bidding, and won't accept questions from you? casecards513 on E-Bay has me blocked and I can't contact thim to find out why. I know I have bought from him previously, but don't remember if it was a smooth transaction or not. How can I find out his contact info? I'm not perfect, and do make mistakes, but I have 4214 positives with NO negatives. Please advise.

You move on to the next seller.

Or, if it's a card I really want, I could just use a relative or friend in another state to buy it for me. Soooo, does blocking a bidder really accomplish the desired ultimate goal? Not at all! All it does is make it inconvenient (NOT impossible) for a buyer to purchase something you have for sale.

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

This is up to you guys, but I have a recent bidder on 3 lots of my items

Ebay username: redwhiteblue_cowboy

After winning 3 lots, he contacted me 2 days later to cancel his purchases because he said he didn't understand that the lots were both chrome and base mixed lots and he didn't agree with my shipping charges.

Both of these were lised in my description very clearly, including the exact number of cards of each kind. The title of the auction also stated very clearly both chrome and base. The shipping charges were stated as well as the manner in which the item would be shipped.

I added him to my BBL as it's just not worse he hassle. I cancelled his transactions rather than deal with low DSRs, or a case opened against me.

Simple case of a non-paying bidder. No response to invoices/emails, and never responded to the UPI case. Ebay closed case today, giving him a strike and refunding fees.

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

Seller feedback on platinumcardsny (516) or SELLCELLDEALS or BSTDistribution.

Purchased 3 copies of a Shelby Miller Chrome Auto base with instant payment of $34.99 per card for a total of $104.97. He sent me a shipping notice from USPS saying the item had been shipped on June 17th, one day after my June 16th payment. On the 23rd of June I noticed that the shipping number he sent me didn't have updated information on it. I sent him a message asking him what happened and he told me that his secretary got it mixed up with incoming mail and that it would be out the next day on the 24th. I told him that was fine and not to worry about it and to please send me a message when he had an updated number. Instead, I find the item relisted on ebay with the same $34.99 BIN.

I get nothing until June 29th when I sent him a message asking what was up. Fearing the worst, I opened a case to protect myself against the possibility that he didn't even send the item. He refunded my money immediately and relisted the cards with a brand new $39.99 BIN. From the 16th to the 30th, he had every chance to ship and for whatever reason didn't do it on an item that required instant payment and then once he refunded me, he listed the items again at a price he will probably get for the copies.

It sucks.

Won, one of my items... after winning, the buyer sent me a message asking to buy 5 other lots that went unsold... and asked to pay half the minimum bid and no additional shipping (despite the fact it would've been 100 additional cards).

I told them I wasn't interested in selling for that, so they never paid for the item they actually won, and I had to open a case to get my ebay fees back.

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

WIth out a doubt block this guy dec-concrete-pave

Long story short. Bought 2 cards from me for $130. The guy hee hawed around for over a month before I filed a claim and then he finally paid. Judging from his feedback he does this for all auctions he wins.

Here is the kicker. Now today two weeks after I shipped he says the back corner on the EEE Auto I sold him is too weak, and is a little white. Now he wants a full refund. The auction ended May 24th!!! ::facepalm::

Here is a link to the completed auction with a scan of the card. I think the card is perfectly fine. Almost all the 2007 EEE autos show a little white on the back because they have a black paper back.

kteachermomhockey

I really have a huge pet peeve with buyers demanding feedback, although I usually give it out and it's just a small irritation - not typically worth making a fuss about. This buyer sent an email immediately following the auction demanding positive feedback, and then just sent this beauty (to be fair, I am behind on leaving feedback on some recent transactions, but still...)

"WITH OVER 1000 WINS ON EBAY WE WILL POST POSITIVE FEEDBACK WHEN POSITIVE FEEDBACK IS RECEIVED. WHEN WE WIN OR BUY IT NOW WE PAY IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE A POWER SELLER PLEASE FIND A WAY TO POST POSITIVE FEEDBACK OR THE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK AND AMOUNT OF STARS WILL BE POSTED. SORRY FOR THIS NOTIFICATION BUT A PERSON REALLY GETS TIRED OF WAITING FOR FEEDBACK AND REMINDING A SELLER ESPECIALLY WHEN OUR PAYMENT IS SENT IMMEDIATLEY WHICH SHOULD SATISFY ANY SELLER.

----KTEACHERMOMHOCKEY----"

The CAPS, threats for leaving negative feedback and low DSR's really pushed this into the need to block the buyer. Obviously a feedback extortion case was filed as well.

Purchased 78 items, total S/H charged was $6.. my total Postage paid was $4.95 + the amount of supplies to ship. Shipped 3 days after he paid (Sunday in there aswell) and he left 4's for communication, 4's for item as described, 3's for S/H time, and 1's and 2's for S/H charged.

Protect your DSR's and block this complete dumb ass.

carddash

I often don't ship items under $10 with a DC. After a week he noted that he didn't get his item. I asked him to give it through the weekend. It hadn't came by then so I refunded his money no questions asked. He emailed me later and said "seller's remorse?" I told him absolutely not and offered to show him the PO receipt from several items that I'd sold. He left a negative feedback and dinged my DSR's anyways. Block this a-hole if you sell low and mid-tier stuff.
