Another deadbeat buyer...claims he didn't want to buy the cards he won because he "just pulled them in a pack" the next day. Wow...you win two auctions and then proceed to buy boxes of Playoff Contenders and Topps BB the next day and pull the exact same two cards you bid on. Amazing.

Just want to make clear that this is NOT me - this isn't the first time I've heard negative things about this guy and the last time there was a post about him, some thought it was me. So, just wanted to make abundantly clear that this is NOT me :)

Had a thread about this one...new bidder who pays for items with e-checks then cancels hoping the seller ships before the check clears. When confronted just blames "Paypal glitches"...

He has bought almost 200 cards in the past month. Most are small buys that most likely wont get sent w/ tracking. He stops payment if he receives a card w/o tracking. Simple scam but effective as hell. Technically he can never get caught b/c no one can prove he actually received the cards since there is no tracking.

His name is John Luby from Chicago. 3837 n lakewood ave. If he buys send tracked and your ok.

Good thing the national is in chicago this year.

Re: Ebay Bidders to Block

I just had a blocked bidder message me saying he tried to bid and was blocked. He knew why and said he understood. Cost me a bid, saved me a possibe headache.

He ignored the eBay invoice. Did not pay. The automatic eBay non paying bidder setting on my account filed a non paying bidder alert. He immediately paid and left me a neutral feedback that stated...

Harrasses you for payment!! Filed an unpaid dispute over $3.00!!!

I contacted him and explained to him that it was an automatic eBay setting. Here is his response.

Dear oates,

Sorry Tom! Complaint to Ebay, not me!! I was recently suspended for TWO
WEEKS over a $1.60!!!!

No response to emails or NBP notice, yet pays for other auctions that finish later. Selective pay AKA buyers remorse. Owes for 3 auctions...

Buys card then demands something is "done" since the card wont grade as high as they want. When asked for a picture of the damage here is what you get

Refer them to GMA (or some other random grading company) and tell him that he's likely to get a Gem Mint card with them.

He just won an auction for a base chrome auto and then sent me a message asking if it was a base or refractor b/c the picture looked like a refractor. I replied and let him know it was a base chrome, just as the listing stated and the pic was of the actual card, which is again, a base chrome. He replies back with this -

"The card too me looks like a refractor this is my own mistake I should have read it better. If you could realist I'd appreciate also will leave positive wheather you have to leave me negative or not. Sorry again."

By doing a quick check of his feedback history, its obvious he is an experienced card buyer and just thought he was getting a good deal on a refractor auto (I guess), even though the selling price is right on par with all other base chromes sold in the last day or so and much less than refractor autos.

patch faker/seller

Wow! Was just about to post this... saw this Bagwell tonight:

http://cgi.ebay.com/JEFF-BAGWELL-AB...US_Baseball&hash=item3366bb2c75#ht_500wt_1156

So this Bagwell card is a fraud, that was modified by the seller?? Wow, I am glad I read this post, he has a lot of great patches, I am glad I know that they r not legit!

Yes... 100% fake. Absolute did a great job of labeling what was in the window. The card says "Game Worn Jersey"; had it been a patch it would have said "Jersey Prime" or "Patch".

Notice that he didn't mention the numbering either. Odds are, this card is numbered to 150... way to high to be a patch.

Won my 1/1 sam bradford from Ebay with a great price. Emails me and asks to wait 3 weeks. I said no, he says how about a $100 deposit. I said no and gonna relist. He says he won it fair and square. Week and a half later still no payment. Dude says he has no funds but bid on almost 10k worth of cards.
