Re: Latest custom autograph cut...Murderers' Row style - Meusel

I have a couple of cuts I'd like something done with. Buck O and Dave Thomas (wendy's, yes odd I know).
I actually really like the non-sports cuts. Plus, a guy like Ray Kroc, you could extend into sports as well. Regardless, an "American Icons" style set with various corporate execs/figureheads would be a cool idea.

I have a "Weird" Al Yankovic I'm working on for myself, and they provide a nice oddball twist to them.

Instead of creating another topic to show this "Batting Title" series, I'll just add it to this now edited thread.

appling-fonseca.jpg

Lew Fonseca won the batting title in 1929 - a season that started with him holding out until the day before Opening Day. Without any spring training, without any batting practice, Fonseca went on to win the batting title that season. Oddball note about Fonseca, during the offseason he was a professional singer.

Hall of Famer Luke Appling was nicknamed "Old Aches and Pains" because of his constant complaining about minor injuries. He also won the AL batting title in 1943 at the age of 36, and later that year he entered the Army during the War.

All of them look great as usual. I love that Meusel. The design is just off the charts.
The Meusel was a cut that I've been messing around with for a while, going from look to look because I wanted to get it right. I was toying with doing a combination cut card with his brother Emil (Irish), who was a great player in his own right.

I think it works right now.

Ferris Fain
ferris-fain-batting.jpg

Ferris Fain won the American League batting title twice during his short 9 year career, in 1951 and in 1952. He was also a 5-time all-star. Recent Hall of Fame inductee, Joe Gordon considered Fain the best defensive first baseman he had ever seen, even though Fain routinely led the position in errors for his aggressive style of play. A fairly short tempered player, Fain was twice arrested in the 80s for growing marijuana at his California home.

Stellar as usual. The red ink auto of Fain really makes the card look nice. And I really like the images behind Bobby, very nicely done. And perfect image for the main pic, Bobby yelling, lol.

Keep it up.
