Idiot Yankee fans could have made some $$$ to keep the ball but they had no clue who Eric Hosmer was and that it's his first HR (or else they probably would have kept it for ransom!)

Lol, +1. The person throwing it back obviously knows next to nothing about baseball. Unfortunate, for them. I have never understood throwing back a major league HR ball. That is more than likely the only time you will ever touch a HR baseball-why would you throw it back? That is just silly.
Hopefully this puts a little charge back into his stuff, I got some more ca$$$hing in I need to do.

If only who had a clue who Hosmer was. he'll be kicking himself in a few years.

Not knowing who Eric Hosmer is has nothing to do with someones baseball knowledge. There are some people who have lives that dont revolve around prospecting.hail2thevictors said:Messier2 said:That was a SHOT!

Its not about prospecting man, its about the potential to own the first HR ball from a guy who could end up being pretty damn good.elmalo said:Not knowing who Eric Hosmer is has nothing to do with someones baseball knowledge. The point that I was making here is that to say that someone knows next to nothing about baseball bc they dont know who Eric Hosmer is is just absurd.bmc398 said:Its not about prospecting man, its about the potential to own the first HR ball from a guy who could end up being pretty damn good.elmalo said:Not knowing who Eric Hosmer is has nothing to do with someones baseball knowledge. Say you hold it and don't sell (would be a ****** thing not to trade to him tho) and you hold the authenticated first HR ball of say a 500 HR club member. Thats something I doubt any collector could say. Theres a huge "what if" factor there....but throwing that ball back was just dumb.

I agree...but if you're at least a semi-active fan in baseball you know that Hosmer is probably the biggest rookie call up thus far this year...elmalo said:The point that I was making here is that to say that someone knows next to nothing about baseball bc they dont know who Eric Hosmer is is just absurd.bmc398 said:Its not about prospecting man, its about the potential to own the first HR ball from a guy who could end up being pretty damn good.elmalo said:Not knowing who Eric Hosmer is has nothing to do with someones baseball knowledge.
