I honestly have nothing against Alabama - but see that comment and can't help but think.....just give it a year or two and Saban will be under investigation.

The whole system is beyond F'd up. If the allegations are true, looks like Newton got caught because he made the mistake of pissing off (and committing violations to) rival schools.

As an Oregon fan, I have been trying to keep up with it...however the more complicated the situation becomes, the longer it likely will take to sort it out meaning we wont know anything probably until way after Cam signs his first NFL contract.

For the love of all that is holy... can the D-1/BCS schools please hurry up and secede from the facist NCAA? I have no idea why all these schools are still clinging to such quaint notions of 'amatuer' college athletes. Enough already - secede from the NCAA - with 64-80 teams in 'super conferences' and let's get a real National Champion. Yes, other sports will suffer somewhat because of this - the NCAA basketball tournament would lose it's Cinderellas, but the nonsense needs to end.

Guess what??? EVERY major program has recruiting violations.... yes, I'm saying every single one - the question is who gets caught? That's a pointless game and one that should end... the sooner the better.

All indications with the Cam Newton story is that it was the Newton family (his "honorable" minister father notably) making the financial demands with their hands out...not agents, not boosters.

If a shred of this is true, Newton is done as the NCAA will not classify him as an amateur athlete even if he never accepted money.
