Have been dabbling in game-used stuff recently and there's obviously a lot out there. At the higher-end modern players have MLB logos, bat knobs, bat barrels, All-Star Game patches, lettermen along with flag patches for a few.

I've never owned one but to me there's something really cool about the personalized element of a bat barrel.

What's your favorite?

Bat barrel cards look the coolest, but I'd rather have the entire bat, which is what you can buy with the price of some of the barrel cards.

I feel the same but over the years do not recall ever having even a shot at acquiring one and I may have seen scans of no more than a couple. I guess the WBC offers an opportunity for those kinds of cards...

I hear your position. Some would argue the same about any card though. The raw materials are pennies yet we can spend a ton more for a card we want. For some picking up the GU card is more about the material in the card and therefore logically prefer the full bat at a similar or sometimes even cheaper price. Others just want the rare cool card.

Opening day game-used bases were pretty cool, especially with a ball swatch too from the game. Plus the Helton is from Albert Pujol's debut game, and the Grace is from Pujol's first home-run game.

Those cards are pretty sick. 2001 Absolute had a ton of really nice stuff.

I have the Pujols /75. It's from the Cards home opener and as you mention Pujols' first homer game. They saved the colorful pieces for the ones with a piece of the ball (like yours).

Hands down, jerseys are the "ultimate" for me. I do like bats, hats, helmets, gloves, etc, but jerseys are what I enjoy the most.

I think I have 3 gamers, and 1 issued when it comes to jerseys. I also have 4 hats and 3 bats.

For hockey, I have 2 jerseys.

Not really interested in basketball, and haven't gotten anything for football.

This flag patch was on Edgar's jersey after 9/11.. It's not off a WBC jersey..
