What would be the best way of picking up inventory to start my online shop I don't have a ton of spare money laying around so would it be a good idea to get some type of loan?

If you want to do boxes, then I'd go with a small business loan.

I think you've been doing the best way so far. Buying lots/collections at a percentage rate. That increases your inventory, and helps you estimate your long-term profit. Just need to keep flipping and build up your funds/inventory incrementally. Unless you've really identified some underpriced items in the market right now to merit a loan, or think you can flip a few cases for a quick gain, you're probably better off only investing the extra discretionary funds you have in the current card market.

Just my 2 cents.

Well here is my plan/goal I move to Washington middle of July so by August 1st if I can get a name and magnet has enough time to do a website I would like to open up an online beckett store with a separate website (which magnet is making). Along with this I want to do shows on the weekends so I would want to have some nice high end of all sports and a good amount of wax(which I am working on with a supplier right now) So I know I can buy and sell singles at a good rate as I have kept track of everything since January but to buy a **** ton of singles and carry wax I know I don't have the money for so I am thinking I need some kind of loan

Oh Magnet has more than enough time for a website bud.

See if you can get some kind of government grant. It's free money, so as the saying goes "that's like a limp dick, you can't beat it". I don't know the specifics or even where exactly to look, but I know there's government grants (and of course regular loans) they give out for people who want to start their own business.

A grant would be great if you could actually get one. You are pretty savvy with buying and selling J so I wouldn't get a loan for the online store. At least wait until you open up the real shop.

My 2 cents.

That's pretty good advice.

One thing you'll want to think about is if you get a loan now just for online inventory, then when you go to get a loan to get money to open your brick and mortar shop, you've got that loan hanging over your head on your credit report. Now it might not affect you, but there's always a chance that it could cause you to get a higher interest or a lower amount on your second loan.

Also, I don't know if you're going to own a home then, but do not take out a second mortgage on the home for the shop

Here's some mail. I got some other cheap cards too, but I won't crowd the thread with scans of them.

I also picked up this card for some reason. I got it cheap and just said yes. 97 Impact Rave #/250.

And this is the stupid Sosa I got instead of the one I paid for - [ebay:1n2upakl]110509725409[/ebay:1n2upakl]

Nice Senior Bowl jersey. I hope he makes things right on the Sosa for you. :) I posted my mail in a seperate thread.
Thanks. I hope so too. I'm sure it was just a simple mistake since both cards are from the same year and set, just different types of jerseys.

Ya I am not sure exactly what to do not like I've ever opened a business before. I think I am going to see if I can talk to a banker or some kind of business thing next week
