Ummmm.....where's Strasburg? Ackley?

it's a 2 series product and they haven't played for a MILB team yet.

Point taken. Who knows, maybe they'll be part of the 20 TBD's.

Card #s 118 and 152 are both the same player.

(Carlos Cavazos-Galvez).

I'm sure I'll find more errors as I delve deeper into this checklist.

As for the 12 autos, there's only one guy in there I'll be looking to buy.

Nice to see Alonso and Weeks finally make an appearance outside Razor and Tri-star.

Alonso is just in the base set, so he won't have any parallels or anything, right? And Weeks is in the FG set, so he should have a few nice patches and such, i think

The arched edge vaguely reminded me of this old mock-up...

The base set will contain Red, Gold and Blue parallels, as well as printing plates. Curious what they'll be #d to.

Nice. Hopefully being non-auto's they won't go for too much

Horrible autograph checklist.

I like that some of my guys are on the regular checklist, but why should I buy those cards when there is a good chance they will have a chrome card later in the year?

I'm also pissed at this-

Debut Cuts
DC-3 Kyrell Hudson
DC-8 Jonathan Singleton

There is no reason for them to cut up those guys Aflacs. Unless I'm missing something...

I'm a big boy, so I can take the lashing I'm about to recieve.

I'd like to applaud Topps for cutting up the Beckham Aflac! They found a way to circumvent the Razor contract and put Beckham autos in their product. While I agree that they could have done it more tastefully (like reducing the window to just be the size of the auto), at least they did it. And it looks like they're going the same route with a couple more Razor players.

As for the base auto's not being appealing. They didn't have time to turn this product out with on card autos, maybe in Series 2 or a later release.

As someone who goes to a lot of AA Texas League games I'm really looking forward to seeing cards made of a lot of the guys that do well locally.

It doesn't look like cards from this set will surpass BC cards as the "cards to get" of prospects.

they aren't supposed to

these replace tristar products

What I'm worried about & dreading is that now that Topps owns the Milb license & the MLB license, is Topps going to have to follow the friggin Rc Logo rule to a "T" & stop producing prospect's in thier MLB uni's (since now they can fully produce prospect's with 0 backlash from MLB, are we going to now see pressure from MLB to cease Topps' production of these prospect cards that somewhat bend the rule's)??? :?

They hardly figured it out. They weren't even the first to do this to Beckham.

I said to get the auto's in their product, I really doubt they had anything to do with Beckham having a cut auto in Tris Star. Let's face it, Tri Star doesn't have as much to lose as Topps if something like that does south.

Well hindsight tells us that Tristar wasn't punished for this and therefore Topps is risking nothing.

Maybe Topps will find a way to show the MiLBers both in their MiLB *and* MLB unis and team logos on the same card, might make for some interesting parallels that could also go across brands.

But personally I strongly prefer MiLBers not "pretending" to be MLBers, IMO it causes confusion.

Holy crap, that is me in the background next to Tate's elbow on the upper cards :o ! That would have been awesome had that ever been used.

That's great.

In regards to these mock-ups...these are in no way affiliated with Razor, it was just a "What I'd like to see" post with a mock-up.

As usual, great job on coming up with those. I had one of those little kid moments where I realized it would still be pretty damn cool to wind up on a baseball card somehow.
Its funny because four seats down on my right was Bryce Harper and members of the Boras Corp. - an interesting day to say the least.

My take is that Im pretty pleased with this product for the most part.

Auto list is somewhat weak but it is interesting that a case will have 3 cuts (yes, I know, Aflacs) which is the Topps way of sticking it to Razor (all for that).

Granted, they could have desinged the cut window much better but still in all, its better to have that "ugly" cut than nothing at all.

Looks like srp wil be around $4 based on it being basic card stock.
Kind of tricky though because while the card stock is reg, theres also 2 autos and a gu to figure PLUS the licensing fee which is much less than MLB. I will be shocked if its under $4 srp.

Base checklst is fully loaded, hard to beat that and with the extra 20 cards TBA, who knows who they will add. I didnt see the "big 3" though on the checklist.

My only neg about this product so far its that, yes theres parallels, but they arent Chrome, and we all know the "respect" Bowman parallels get in the Hobby.

Unless they will be issuing the same product in Chrome (that will make many unhappy who buy this), I think they are making a HUGE mistake not having them included.

Funny thing is that the game used cards will be MUCH scarcer than the reg autos.

sorry but this isn't anything to get excited over... only the Mejia auto is even slightly interesting to me.

of course the patches will be nice, but that's not a one-a-box hit to look forward to [not saying it should be] ...

chisenhall, friedrich, montgomery, and moustakas all have better auto'd cards already out there... the base set isn't very aesthetically-pleasing... i don't get why people are even interested in this unless they collect guys who were in the minor league all-star games and try for every card of those players.
