For those concerned about the ban of AKA

Did you even read my message? I said i agree, rules are rules. A rule was broken, and action has to be taken because of that. I have no problem with that.

I am wondering why it is so bad to try to promote the basketball site by using the baseball site? If it was happening every hour or every day I could see a potential problem.

I agree rules are rules, but why is it so bad for Coastal to once in a while post something on the baseball board trying to increase trafic to the basketball boards?

I would think a goal of the site would be to increase interest in the other boards. I am getting the feeling that is not the case. I guess I don't understand why such a strong PM had to be sent

It would be one thing if it was just a singular PM. I am under the impression that it was just one in a series of strong PM's between both parties.

He posted a PM which is against the terms of service - that's a suspension no matter who you are.

im just saying i have seen guys not get susupended for stuff, maybe give him a strict warning or something..

Others have been suspended for posting PM's - it is a practice with no exceptions. You aren't a moderator and do not know both sides of the story so please do not presume to decide sentences. AKA will be back before you know it.

The baseball board is for baseball. AKA constantly promoted basketball on there and Gilmore had enough. While staying on topic has been a scoff law for awhile now, it is still a guideline.

thats a lie because he didnt CONSTANTLY do it, he only did it once in awhile for the bigger contests, and the pm gilmo sent was pretty harsh, it was almost like he was bullying him or something

That's a matter of opinion. There were at least three in the last four days. The PM Gilmore sent - AS I ALREADY SAID - was a part of a series of exchanges likely taken out of context. I'm not going to argue about it anymore.

"You shall not post any personal information of any other member or non member. This includes phone numbers, addresses, and Private Messages from the FCB PM system."

I get plenty of PM's worse than what Gilmore sent AKA. You don't see me posting all of them. If you want to talk to AKA get his email address and send him a message you guys can go out for lunch together whatever.

no its cool, i will just wait for him to get back so we can make fun of the mods together, it will be much better that way

I didn't see any of what happenned to AKA as I wasn't around at the time, but I do have a notion it had something to do with a thread that Gilmore made on the Baseball boards that was off topic (it was titled something along the lines: "Building/making a computer for Moxicaine, what should I do to it") & he was doing so comically to joke around. Then AKA (& a couple others) began stating that the thread was "off-topic" & that the thread should be moved out of the BB board (as thier thread's had been moved on recent occassion's). Then to thicken the ploy someone jokingly called Chris a name (which was also related to a recent-past thread where a member had asked that another member be suspended because they were called a "d-bag" or something of the sort, Chris came into the thread & responded that while name calling isn't necessarily permitted, the user should thicken thier skin as this occurs in life so stop whining) and then the member made sure to remind Chris that it was okay to do so since Gilmore himself had stated this in an earlier thread. Gilmore's joke thread was basically overran by member's who were mocking him & using his previous ruling's/staement's against him (they were throwing them in his face), so Gilmore stated: "We will then be strictly by the book, go by the rules to a "T"...or something along these lines with this meaning. And then Gilmore locked the thread. I paid it no mind as I've tried to veer from the power struggles & pissing contest's that I've seen (essentially this is Chris Gilmore's site & although the member's make it what it is by being here & creating discussion, if he decided what he was getting out of maintaining this site were not to his liking anymore & shut it down; then what would we do?). I went on with my everyday business & now I hear these rumbling's about AKA & whatnot, so this is my take on what is going on. You don't spit in Johnny Law-Dog's face & then walk people :lol: I'm not saying AKA was wrong it what he's been doing (walking the line & testing it & such, because someone needs to be that person otherwise complacency sets in & things would go awry...People need to test things & callout what they see & observe) and I'm not saying Gilmore is wron in his action's (as there has got to be rules & someone who enforces them, & alot of time the one whom enforces them ends up getting the raw end of the deal because the masses view them as the bad-guy, when they are actually doing them a service)! Hopefully AKA comes back & all of this will be squared away & put behind us...Brighter & better days people, it's a message board for heaven's sake!
