Only 1 has been sold on the open market, a Julio Franco. It went for the opening bid of $55.

The other few that have sold in individual sales haven't garnered much.
Actually someone sold 2 others on eBay. I didn't bid because I didn't know anything about them and I think he had a minimum bid of $75 or so. It was last year sometime and they both sold though. Can't remember who the names were.

Yeah, those were a Biggio and a Fisk I believe. It was my understanding that the transaction had occurred off of eBay, but for security's sake, maybe they did it online.

I thought that they had one bid each but I may be wrong. I just remember talking to the seller and trying to find out more info and was trying to get a deal going if they didn't sell. But that never happened.

I stayed out of those auctions because the guy had 2 of each that we were already working a deal out on. Took another 6 months, but we finally made a deal.

Well...I'm finally starting to organize and take pictures of all my Frank Thomas items and other memorabilia. Consider this just a teaser for whats to come. I'll let you know when I do another update. I wanted to put this on your radar. Its gonna be quite a daunting task to complete and fulfill, however it will be very rewarding and I will be able to share my collection with you guys. Below are the two domain names that I will be operating out of....

frankthomasmuseum.com
bighurtmuseum.com

I've got a rough idea of how I'm going to organize the site. Next up is taking pictures of all the items. I'm totally jazzed about this as its been a long time coming. I hope you dig it.

Looking forward to your museum Wade. There are going to be a lot of sites dedicated to Big Frank in the near future.

---------------

Well, the time has come. Recently the No 1 PSA Registry Thomas collector was able to bump his PSA 9 Pan Am Blue to a PSA 10 with a review. Because of the miscut back, PSA simply didn't issue 10s previously. That being said, now that the barrier has been broken, it's time for me to try.

Some of you know my methods already. When I'm try to get a first PSA 10 or a low pop 10, I tend to send 3 of the same card in for grading. One sure fire 8, one without a doubt 9, and one 9 with the potential for 10 with slightly better eye appeal than the 9. Now, most of the time I'll end up with an 8, 9, and 10...then I'll try to get the 9 bumped to a 10 later.

As is the case with my latest ploy. Meet Mr. 10 and Mr. 8. I also plan to crack out a solid BGS 9 to send a long with them.

Here's the only current 10. I better get a darnn 10.

Great PSA 10 on the Pan Am blue. Is it in your personal collection?

No George, it's not. It was just graded a couple of weeks ago and now that PSA has given a copy the PSA 10 nod, I'm going to try to land one of my own with a few raw copies.

Good luck on the raw copies. Wonder if PSA will re-grade my BGS 9.5 Pan Am blue if I submit it?

I would hate like hell to submit it and then get a PSA 9 or 8.5. It is a tad off center.

You can submit it as a crossover and request a minimum grade of 10. They won't crack it unless it gets the 10.

What I've found with this issue however is that centering is the thing that keeps it in a 9 slab most often. Because of the naturally miscut back, PSA is very picky on front centering for this issue.
