This arrived today. I was hoping to sub it to PSA for a crossover, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't get the 9 from PSA...at least not without the (MC) qualifier. The front centering is what I expected and has a little bit of a tilt, but the back is horendous. The last line of the card on the sheet next to it appears above the stats on the edge. Anyway, I know this is the case on a large portion of these cards, but it's going to stay in a very forgiving BGS 9 slab.

In the end, I'm satisfied for $75.

Cobra: That is one awesome looking sig! ;) They look "sweet" together side by side.

BunchO: I haven't seen a Pan Am Blue card without the back being mis-cut. Most of them have the word "ago." cut from the previous card. Believe it or not but, even the BGS 9.5 Gem Mint has the word "ago." on the back of it. Not sure how that came back a 9.5?

Happy New Year Frank collectors and you too, Magic!

Thank you for the info! I've never seen one without the ago either, so I figure they might not exist and therefore the major graders account for that in the grading process, but this one even has the bottom portion of much of the line above "ago." PSA won't penalize the "ago," but I have a feeling they'll hit the cut off line above it pretty hard. To make it worse, it's only the bottom half of the last 5 or 6 words because of an ever so slight tilt. I'm just afraid the combination of all these things will keep it out of a PSA 9 slab.

This is for Chad and MagicPapa...I'm pretty sure the one of the left was just left in direct light too long before grading (uhoh PSA!), but here are two that are completely different colors. I say before it was graded and therefore PSA made an "uhoh" because the PSA flip isn't faded at all. These were scanned side by side to show actual contrast.

WOW, the labels aren't consistent and could eaisly throw off a "newbie" Thomas collector due to the difference in colorl.

The label on the right is what PSA used to call that set, the label on the left is the corrected flip...but it has the ugglier card. I purchased the one on the left first, it was hideous, so I purchased one with better color.

Yeah...I almost bought it just in-case you or Randy needed it. Then I figured I'd let it pass. Good deal for sure.

Ugh, I am so bummed that I missed out on the Colla Thomas! I would have paid more than twice that. I'm surprised that Burbank doesn't have it listed for $1,000.

Great price! I couldn't believe it. Oh well, there are 198 more!

Fixed it for ya. ;)

Man, I feel bad for you guys now. If I would have picked it up I still would only have 1 extra copy and 2 guys who wanted it. If I remember correctly I paid more than double for mine.

There was another steal I saw listed a few days ago. I will see if I can find it and post it up here if nobody has snatched it up yet.

Some recent pick-up's. Nothing great. Been kinda slow lately. Lack of funds doesn't help any either.

Got this one cheap. #96/99

Can't belive I didn't have either of the Gold's from '97. I've passed on so many thinking I already had 'em. Still need the other (non-checklist).

I don't want to jinx myself...but I picked up a heck of a deal the other day...we will see if it arrives before I get too excited though. I mean if it's complete, an absolute steal...that's why I'm not holding my breath.

I'm still shocked at how low the BIN was on that Colla...man, I was so excited.

I wanted to throw this out there...if any of you know where to pick up a 500th HR game MLB certified game used baseball, please let me know. I missed out bidding on the only one I saw listed, but I'd really like to have one.

Was it a Pro's & Prospects auto, 90 Leaf RC, Pacific insert, a game-used, and a few other cards for $45?

No a 1987-88 Auburn issue set for $5.00. I think it may be missing the Thomas...either way I wanted the rest of the set for my binder anyway. If it's complete...I really got a deal.
