With a name like that, what do you think? Sounds to me someone got the home printer fired up and printed some cards.

The cards are hideous looking, but the patches are pretty sweet. At $50 a pack it looks like it could be fun.

supposedly the person that created them has a pretty extensive collection. I don't really dig the woodstock groovy borders but I have seen a few decent patches so far.

This guys name is Gary and is big on youtube (user name - king of steak). These cards are legit and I also think they are lacking in the design department. He has multiple videos on youtube about the custom cards he makes. He is a great guy that loses his temper easily and makes some awesome rant videos. Here is his website

http://www.hitscards.com/

also has a photo database of every card that was made and each card has a authentication sticker with a number that you can punch in online and see the exact card.

Where is he getting all these game used patches and stuff from? They are large significant pieces of game used material.

I believe that he just buys the full item off of places such as mlb auctions and then cuts them up.

Here is a video of him receiving a package from mlb auctions for a Nyger Morgan Game Used Hat. Skip to about 2:50

He buys the game used pieces off ebay and various other places. He also makes the Tube Traders cards for all of the youtubers who frequent each others group breaks. chri5784 and thetruth17 who are two well known box breakers on youtube are featured in this tubetraders set. He does a pretty good job with the quality of the cards and then sends them out to the members around the country.

Overall, he's a pretty cool guy for what he does. His rants do go overboard sometimes but what he gives out to the community for free is amazing.

This is an interesting question. Apparently people don't seem satisfied with what the major manufacturers are doing either price-wise or quality-wise and think they can do better. And if all that really matters is the GU and how the GU looks, they can easily be right. How tough is it to buy, cut up and glue a patch on a card?

Did you see these cards? Apparently not that easy. Wow you got a authentic jumbo patch, in a card thats design looks like utter garbage.

Perhaps these people also have at least basic craft skills and enjoy doing it. My thoughts are that if it were tough to do, so many people wouldn't be be doing it.

I dont know why people are aching about how it looks. Doesnt look much worse than some Pacific product from back in the day. Too bad he cant use the person's likeness on the card. Would be better if we could see the player on the card somewhere.

Well if pacific released their "back in the day" product last week and printed it at walmart you would have a point.

Here goes my first post.

I know Gary and he is a stand-up guy who really loves this hobby. As with a lot of people I have talked with and know, it is sickening that the major companies do not care about quality. It is more important to get the product out with whatever is laying around, then to try a little harder to make your customers happy.

Here is an example:
2008 UD Premier Quad 06/10
2008PremierQuad06-10.jpg

Here is the 1/1
GriffeyPujolsJonesGuerrero1-1.jpg

If the big companies cared, wouldnt they try a little harder to bring batter quality to the 1/1, the card people would love to own (in my opinion). Instead these 2 cards could go hand in hand as if they were numbered the same.

Gary just trys to buy nice stuff from the major auction houses and authenticators as well as directly from the teams to guarantee legitimacy.

On another note, he makes a product that there will always be a way to verify the card is what it always has been. There are tons of scammers out there that take the cards from the big companies and exploit the flawed manufacturing process to make something that looks stunning, but is a fraud:

Heres an example: (for further verification of this fact contact jcmint, he has the card in the second picture)
2009 Ultimate Griffey Patch 01/35 (When I owned it)
Ultimate09UltimatePatch01-35.jpg

After a scammer was through with it:
FakeGriffey.jpg

A friend of mine was scammed by the loser who altered the card into paying $650 for it, he showed it to me and I told him it was a fake and he was able to get his money back. That is the long and short of it.

Gary has online verification so you can double check the card is as it always was, none of the big companies even care. In fact UD was contacted about the card in the second picture and they said in sum and substance "it is probably real, we use a lot of different patches". Then they were shown the proof and they said they would look into it (doubt it, they got there money for the product, they dont care what happens after that).

I am not trying to start off on a negative note here, I just want to defend someone who I know cares and isnt here to defend himself. If it was as easy as some people think it is to make cards, more people would do it. The fact is we can all talk about design and whether or not it is real, but at the end of the day if we are not putting out something to rival it, then I guess he has the better product (and he can authenticate his items).

Take care
