I had no idea if they were real or how much they were worth. I was figuring I could flip em for 100 total. It wasn't til I got home and checked eBay when I realized how much they could be worth.

You are mad at him bc he got a deal? She and her son could have easily said no. And it isnt like it is all that hard to look up the values. And if her son had two Jordan rookies Im sure he knew who Michael Jordan is and that the cards could possibly have some value. Also, when you consider the fact that they arent graded and could be fakes, the buyer is taking a risk.

I know who Wayne Gretzky is and his significance to hockey. I couldn't begin to tell you how much one of his RCs go for and I collect sports cards. I've been collecting for 25+ years.

Got em in an estate sale from a 60 yr old woman who said they were her sons. She even called him up and asked how much he wanted, bargained him down to $30 total.

Besides, until graded, they have a better-than-even shot at being reprints. Hell, she may have even known they were RP and is glad to have suckered you out of $30.

If this turns out to be the steal that it could be, people will be pissed because they weren't the ones who got in on it. Happens all the times. That's why when someone posts a steal on the boards, a bunch of these ******** run to the seller to either tell them they sold too low or to offer a few bucks more so that they can land the card.

I can't spot a fake Jordan RC from a real one. For $30, I would have taken a chance on them too.

Rivera- I'm not so sure. There are plenty of people who collected at one time that are not very knowledgeable on cards. It all depends on where you find things. Steals, even unbelieveable ones, happen all of the time. People collect for a couple of years, get away from the hobby, and have no clue what they have. Same thing with cards that are passed down. Maybe the kid could care less, has no idea what they are, and just sells them because they would rather have cash than the cards.
