Good luck with them but I'm going to venture to say they're both fake. As someone who is probably the same age as the lady's son and collected basketball cards as a kid, to have two perfectly centered Jordans that were nrmnt-mnt or better (and no other 86-87F) is pretty much unheard of.

I had the entire set minus a Jordan and the centering of the cards were all over the place. I traded for it, and I believe the older couple (card shop owners) thought they were getting the better end of the deal in 1989 when I gave them a 86 Donruss Fred McGriff, 89 UD Dwight Smith , and $15 for the set and stickers minus the regular Jordan.

Anyhow, I'm guessing the son was more interested in making sure he was getting something decent for the SLU's and probably knew the Jordan's were reprints.

Hope for your sake I'm wrong though.
