Happy days for the Hodges believers. Call-up definitely likely late in the 2009 to prepare him for the ROY run in 2010. Fast start in 2009 will make him a hot commodity on the board. I know you have an AWESOME Hodges collection and I am probably the 2nd biggest fanspector on this board. Your new sig is awesome. Have to get a new one made sometime this year.

Nice. Hope he has a good year and fixes the parts of his game that need work so he can definitely be up by next year at the latest.

I have yet to read an article quoting a scout saying that he can stick at 3b in the majors. I have read plenty in the other direction though.

Yeah so have I. We're gonna need to see a drastic improvement with his glove this year if he's gonna have any shot at playing third.

His bat does not play at first, and its kinda average in the outfield.

I will be good for him to work from the start of ST and throughout the AAA season to improve at 3B. He seems to not take his mistakes from the field to the plate which is a good thinf. Short memory is good. Of course I along with a few others are hoping he can make it at 3B. Sitting out all of 2006 really has an impact on your fielding, like golf and the short game. BTW just got my 19th Blue refractor and 4th BGS 9.5 [paid less then I thought I would]. Expected a counter, but apparantly there was an amount to auto accept. That makes 4 of the 5 BGS 9.5 in my collection.

Gotta love his heart though.

Taught himself to hit left handed instead of missing his senior year due to an injury that disallowed him from hitting right handed. And he hit about .450 that year. From that alone, you can determine that he's a guy with a good attitude, a guy that's coachable, a driven player that wants to get better, and someone who loves to play the game. Definitely the kind of guy I wouldn't mind having around on my team if I was a coach or player.

Sweet. What is the number on the back? keeping track of those. I have probably 8 that would probably grade out at BGS 9.5, but just haven't sent any to BGS. I have one more Blue to acquire to get to 20 before ST then I will just sit tight and watch Hodges development.

That is good news,i'm just not sold on his defense for a every day 3rd baseman at the mlb level.1b & OF are full for the next year or 2.I believe he would be a good hitter.20hr,80 rbi's.

I could live with those #'s at third.

could tribe live with a .295 25 100 3b w/ a .975 fielding percentage?

You realize with people off the juice and those stats he would be top 5 of the MVP. That isn't too far off of Youkilis last year and he was third for MVP.

true, maybe with more protection he would have won it. he was my pick and i hate the red sox. but i hope hodges can get close to those numbers in a few seasons

to be honest mvp voting makes me scratch my head because to me Pujols should have 3 or 4 when you consider his importance. Didn't think about those stats as MVP just wondering. Hodges might not be a gold glove 3B, but there are players that are terrible, but their bat makes all the difference. Very few Scott Rolen/Mike Lowell types that have to Gold Glove and offense. Most of the time a person's bat wins awards, not his glove, but the glove cost teams games.
