Hey guys,

After seeing some of the scans of sketches on eBay I made a deal for an FDR redemption. I was happy to get one of the "bigger name" presidents (you know, first round draft pick from a big time school etc.) Turns out that J. Evans Kelley did not paint the FDR's and now I am up in the air about reselling the exchange or redeeming.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Personally, I would sell it and get something you know looks good. Here is an example of one of the other artists: link. While not bad, it certainly isn't on par with the other work.

Redeem it if FDR is one of your favorites. I doubt it's going to look crappy and it could be amazing. Plus, you've got a 10% at the gold border, right?

UD redemption would scare me.

Id trade it for someone live, a president you like and the sketch that looks good to you

I don't think any of these redemptions will have a gold edge. None of them were painted by Kelley, and I think he did the gold edge himself. I don't think Upper Deck will require anyone else to do it.

I checked with Kelley and he said the same. Unless UD liked the idea enough to tell the other sellers to do the same, odds are they will not have a gold bordered, though I imagine the 1/10 will get a premium of sorts.

Hey fellas -

The redemption cards in the new UD video are pretty awesome. The artist did a superb job and I think they should look great with the cards I painted! I for one am impressed with the caliber of the redemption cards.
