Former Diamondback Mark Grace has been indicted on four felony DUI counts and could face up to 3.75 years in prison if convicted, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office reported Thursday.

A grand jury on Oct. 12 indicted Grace on four felony counts of aggravated driving or actual physical control while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, said Jerry Cobb, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office spokesman.

Grace is charged not only with driving under the influence but also driving with a suspended license and without an interlock device, as required under his previous DUI conviction.

If convicted on all counts, Grace faces between 1 and 3.75 years in prison on each count, but the sentences would likely be imposed concurrently because they relate to one incident, Cobb said.

Grace could face less time if he pleads guilty to reduced charges, Cobb said. He is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial conference at 8:30 a.m. before Commissioner Jerry Bernstein.

Grace, a Scottsdale resident and former Diamondbacks television analyst, was arrested about 9 p.m. Aug. 23 near 7200 E. McCormick Parkway. Blood tests performed on Grace showed he had a blood alcohol content of .095, which is above the legal limit .08, said Scottsdale Police Officer David Pubins.

A member of the Diamondbacks championship team, Grace was also arrested May 30, 2011, and subsequently his license was suspended and he was required to have an interlock device in his vehicle, police said.

The Diamondbacks announced after the second arrest that Grace will not be returning to the broadcast booth.

Really sad... I say give him the slammer. I'm sorry but DUI is not anything to take lightly. You put yourself and everyone around you in danger. This is the 3rd time?! More or less?! Sorry but hope he gets what's coming to him this time.

Also, it's crazy how someone like Grace is thought of in such a nice light (mostly because of his playing days) and then someone like Belle is though of in such a negative light (again because of his playing days) BUT both have lived much different lives since leaving the game.

Sheriff Joe should throw the book at him, it's not only dumb, it could have been fatal.

What a loser. The guy has had the world at his feet his entire life and he acts like an irresponsible *******.
I have no pity for him or other repeat drunk drivers.

While I think drunk driving terrible, and Grace can't spend enough time in jail, I'll stop short of calling him names or thinking he's evil. I think he has made a mistake and should suffer serious reprecussions for his recidivism, but I won't change my personal view of him. I just want him taught a lesson. No drunk driver ever means to kill someone; but they do and should be punished, but I tend to believe their sorrow. But I also don't care about their sorrow, I care that they spend hard time.

Am I making sense, or is that too muddled?

It's almost a guarantee he will do more than 1 month in jail.

Probably in Scottsdale though, not tent city.

I'm all for understanding and forgiving stupid mistakes like a DUI (as long as there was no attached and outward damage), but it has got to the point with Mr. Grace that he seemingly and continually has no problem playing russian roulette with his and anyone elses life. I simply have no remourse, or respect for such a selfish and thoughtless person. I am sympathetic towards his obvious problems, but time for correction is needed.

It seems Even Bobby Brown is just like Mark Grace

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/10/bobby-brown-charged-suspected-dui.html
Brown, who got his start with the R&B group New Edition, was charged with driving under the influence with a prior and refusing to take a chemical test, driving on a restricted license due to alcohol/drugs and operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney's office.

He certainly needs to get his ish together! I mean, I've never gotten a dui but damn, if I had one, I would have been so damn scared I'd be lucky if I ever felt like drinking again. This is why I keep my ass at home while I drink(if I decide to at all). Not worth the problems. I don't want to ever wake up the next morning knowing I killed somebody because I was having too much fun. That would pretty much ruin your life. My grandfather always told me there are fates worse than death. That would be one of them for sure. Not the getting arrested part. But taking someone's life.

Pretty boy Grace will be popular among his fellow inmates, if you know what I'm saying.

Is Arizona a conjugal visit state? I know he won't have any probs continuing to pick up women but the question is can he have fun with them while in jail?

Can we please quit referring to driving while intoxicated as a mistake??

Driving while intoxicated is a BAD DECISION. There's a big difference.

People who continuously make the bad decision to drive while intoxicated (or any other crime for that matter) should be incarcerated. DUI punishments in this country are far too lenient. Multiple DUI offenders need to lose their driving privileges permanantly and should be subjected to at least MONTHS in jail and/or home confinement.
