Kenny, I have question about this. I know nothing about this kind of thing. It sure would be nice to have a website that you could go to and have a complete list of Griffey autos, here comes the hard part, with pictures. I am sure that that would be to much for a free webpage.

You dont even need to click, Roy. Look at my freewebs page...

Half of those images are actually pulled from photobucket...i couldnt upload them all to freewebs because the free account didnt offer enough space. So we could still see the cards without having to link. It would make a rather long page with images....but it would allow people to view the images without having to click away from the page.

My wife has a server that I put my images on and our cost is about $45 per quarter..

I have my own server at home- 1 terrabyte expandable.
I can create any folders I wanted to- for instance one called "Griffey cards".I can even have a different web adress for every year or whatever you want.

I can create the folder and give the link out in about 5 minutes but I just am confused as to what else if anything we'd have to do, to get the pictures linked to the folder. I own the server, there is no charge since I don't pay any other money for it, since buying it. If this works for people and if I have enough space, I can create the folder and give the link out anytime. Any feedback on this offer would be appreciated. I do use the server to store some of my stuff but a terrabyte is alot and its expandable. If I had to expand it, we might have to chip in to buy the expansion. At least theorically we could have unlimited free space.

Once we have a template say for 1989 Auto's, then the html can point to the picture wherever it's hosted..

The html pages don't take up that much space since it's only text..

However, I dont necessarily think that we really need the space...since we all have the images in our photobuckets, we can link directly to those. No need to have anyone take up their server space (although we arent talking huge numbers) when photobucket is already hosting our pics. Know what i mean?

I was thinking....we could take that list of all the autos, the have the list hyperlinked to the image if it's in someones bucket. Since we are just going for "one of every auto", no need to specify which bucket it's linked to. For example, the immortal inscriptions...we have about 6 of them or so between us. No need to list out who has them (i dont think...) I would have it on the website like this, linked to my image for example..

I was thinking along the same lines. I was thinking of just puting the list up as is with the contributes at top hyperlinked straight to your page/photobucket. That way if someone wanted to see all cards they could do it that way. Then put the list

Year - Card - Who owens one

Hyperlink the name of the ower and when you click that just the single card would come up like the above example. But like with the inscription auto you could click on each ower and see 6 different cards, which would nice for the serial numbered cards, but would take a little longer. I had my site set up that way at one time but took it off since I already have the photos on a different page. It is not that hard to do as long as you have everyones Page/Photobucket.
Then hyper link the names

OK, so we want to keep the people's names that own them, and link to each bucket? It isnt too much more to be honest, but thats fine with me. Some may have one name after them, others up to 6. Should I use our ID's here like we did on the list?

I figured that i would just use a freewebs page...i've used freewebs before and its pretty simple. Unless someone would like to make one from scratch (done that too but its a much longer project). I can get started on it tonight possibly after i get some homework done. Can you update the list as much as possible? At least with the autos that have been released since the list ended...not necessarily the ones we have. We can do that as we go....

if you would like, i have no problem setting it up. If someone wants the login info to the site, and are interested in updating it, LMK. Otherwise, I guess you would have to PM me as new ones come in.

Well, you guys seem alot more computer literate than I. I can offer webpages for each year if you ever decide you need them. With the room you state you need, it should not affect my server at all.

If we do it your way, can I still use by home server for my link, since I'm trying to put my cards on my own web address?
ie, I would not be using photobucket, but it seems to me anybody with a web link to one card could use any website / server they wanted- true?

I can get an address for every card I have separately, so anyone could see it on my server. And again if it's ever easier for you, you are welcome to use a web address for every folder which would be one year which I would set up.
If the other way works better for you, great, I'll just list my cards with my server address, not photobucket?

I have many cards which were not listed on your original list, some are 1/1 and were not released in any other form.
I also just bought the 1997 buyback of the 1993 pp card /5, don't see any listed. I assume every buyback of every numbered series will be listed as well as every short print hand numbered?

I'll just wait to see what you come up with and do my best to get cards up with my time a little limited. But as long as we follow some master list, I'll insert cards with website addresses as I can.

Well, you guys seem alot more computer literate than I. I can offer webpages for each year if you ever decide you need them. With the room you state you need, it should not affect my server at all.

If we do it your way, can I still use by home server for my link, since I'm trying to put my cards on my own web address?
ie, I would not be using photobucket, but it seems to me anybody with a web link to one card could use any website / server they wanted- true?

I can get an address for every card I have separately, so anyone could see it on my server. And again if it's ever easier for you, you are welcome to use a web address for every folder which would be one year which I would set up.
If the other way works better for you, great, I'll just list my cards with my server address, not photobucket?

I have many cards which were not listed on your original list, some are 1/1 and were not released in any other form.
I also just bought the 1997 buyback of the 1993 pp card /5, don't see any listed. I assume every buyback of every numbered series will be listed as well as every short print hand numbered?

I'll just wait to see what you come up with and do my best to get cards up with my time a little limited. But as long as we follow some master list, I'll insert cards with website addresses as I can.

I just put together the lists that were posted here...all three posts from kenny, and roy's post with 2008/09 cards. Does that include them all? I think it might be best to email that list to everyone, one at a time, and fill in what you have, and anything that is missing. Looking at these 30 pages of cards, i dont have the time to go through everyones bucket and mark what they have. Plus you will know best anyways.

So here's what i will do...i will email this list to roy tonight...roy, send it back to me with your name next to the ones you own, add any in that arent on the list, then i will send it to the next person. I dont know all of your emails, so if you dont mind, please PM me or email me your email addy..my email is jpcz@aol.com. I will edit a particular post in here as i get them back from collectors that way we know who got the list, and who sent it back.
