I picked up a card in trade that I have wanted for quite some time! Its the Griffey Jr, 96 SPX Commemorative auto!! Damn I love that card! On card AND its one of the first certified autos he had other than the Minor League stuff!

I'm glad you did. It is a nice card. Its good to be on here. I was wondering where all the griffey guys went to. The beckett site is pathedic. I was shocked to see that this site actually wants your ebay name and doesn't seem to mind talk about other card sites. It truly is freedom cardboard! lol.

Not much talk in the way of Griffey here. It was decent for awhile but
kind of fell off when he retired. Anywho I am up for Griffey card talk
all day everyday.

Hey everyone, I am looking to pick up a Ken Griffey Jr Auto 1994 Upper Deck w/ Mickey Mantle, Griffey Auto only. I am starting to do my homework now and learn as much as I can about this card, I hear this is a heavily counterfeited. Does anyone here have any information about this? I figured for both cost reasons and counterfeit reasons, I would avoid the Mickey Auto version all together. Are there certain features I should be looking for for an authentic version? Hologram on the back, Signature placement, etc? Any help would be most appreciated, thanks!

I haven't heard of a Junior only counterfeit. The only ones I have heard of are the duals. People take the cheaper Griffey only version, add a fake Mantle to it and flip for tons of profit. I think you should be fine with any single signed Griffey.

BMaggs, you can always dbl check with fellow Griffeys guys on here as for the serial numbering , they should follow a pattern, and as jbrown said, you should be ok with just the Griffey sig one

As far as I know,all single signed 94 UD Griffey/Mantle are authentic.Not 100% sure,but 90% sure,hope that helps!

They should be there were no unsigned copies.
