Here is a 1989 UD "promo sheet" with Griffey's RC on it among others. It has a serial number on the bottom right showing "No 01531" Does anyone have any information on this piece? Thank you

I remember those, and I believe there was 10,000 of those, which was extremely limited at the time (before the Classic numbered cards, and the Donruss numbered cards). Given away at a show, or shows I don't know. I saw one come back from one of the big card shows.

"These blank-backed, 8 1/2" by 11" sheets feature pictures of Upper Deck baseball cards and were distributed at conventions in Chicago and Washington, D.C. The sheets carried a production run number but not the total number produced. The sheets are listed below in chronological order."

There's 3 different listed.

i think they are all blue, its just that they fade to a black look

Hey guys,

Thought I'd share this new one I picked up at a shop in Virginia last week. It has some small creases on the sides, but I've never seen one like this and had to pick it up. Not sure if I'm trading it or keeping it. I'm not in too big of a hurry to get rid of it.

Bummer man. I would have loved to see you get that. I'm still waiting for mine. I redeemed it in November. I didn't think a lot of people would find it because is was listed so poorly.

Hey guys. It's been a long time since I posted in the thread. I haven't had any Griffey pick ups in awhile. I got to a cross a want off my list though. Nothing major but I picked up a 1989 Fleer Glossy RC. Sorry, no scan yet, but it's nice to have a Griffey pick up again.

Roy- It seems like he is starting to get into a little groove lately. Hopefully he keeps it up.

CONGRATS on winning it!

I sent an email on Friday to somebody with a little pull at UD. Last I heard from him, he said that Griffey signs quarterly with them. That was in May. This product has been out for an entire year here soon, and those should have been signed! I redeemed mine in November 08.

In my email that I sent last week, I stated that there are 09 products out that were released in April and June that have on-card autos, and I also asked when he was scheduled to be there again. I haven't heard back, but hope to this week. I'm guessing the move to Seattle slowed things down a bit??? One thing that I'm encouraged by was that I was assured by UD last time that this would be signed and I shouldn't expect a replacement. There's no way anyone should get a replacement for a Griffey auto since he's a UD exclusive. Hopefully we get them soon!
