Harper's done plenty. His rep preceded him to be sure. This was "Welcome to the bigs. Don't get cocky yet." Harper responded in the best possible way both on the field and off. He passed this little test. Respect!Except it's not old school. Old school would be hitting him after he did something to deserve it. Harper did no such thing, except play hard (which is old school).
I wonder why Rizzo is of that opinion? What does Charlie Manuel think? To channel Mike Rizzo, this was fake tough---fake old school---by a misguided pretty boy pitcher that rides a carousel with the safety strap latched, carries a pomeranian (or whatever dog that is) around in a backpack, wears affliction shirts but wouldn't throw a punch because it would mess up his manicure, and likes to pose with random interracial childen in a bed.
And everything you say about Hamels is true, which is why I like that he was the one who did this, in the first inning no less. He then took his beaning. Respect!
Again, I love it all around. Baseball needs more emotional storylines, and the networks need reasons to show games outside of the AL East once in a while. This rivalry is going nowhere but up.
