Something is definatly fishy. No one takes that kind of loss purposley even if they are "shorting" the cases. This definatly could be a cut and run similar to what happened with L & R cards in the end or they are getting teir hands on these cases some other illegal type of way.

Yes. They where a little slow but kept communication open and delivered what was promised.

Same experience here. I bought 2 cases of Draft from him and he delivered. He even overnighted one of the cases so I would get it before Xmas.

Someone who bought a case from her asked why she was selling so low. She told them that the cases are the ones people who made deposits on and never completed payment and the cases are drop shipped from dealers across the country.

Other then that I have no idea but it seems everyone who purchases from her has been getting the product.

The thing that I don't get is that, regardless of how she is getting the cases or planning to do, she is still leaving money on the table. We would probably still be having this debate if her Sterling cases were $1500 and not $1050. Also, selling this low just makes her even more suspicious becuase we can only assume something shady is going on for her to be throwing away money. I am very interested to see how this unfolds...

That's certainly plausible. But I wonder how she knows so many dealers all over the country in order to do this?

And if this is the case, why wouldn't they just skip the ebay fees and sell them for more money on dealernet where there are tons of legit buys well over what they they are being sold for on ebay. It is one thing to sell for "market price" which has been dictated by supply and demand, but is is completly different when someone is selling something way below what the market price is on purpose. It just does not make sense.

Yea, I call BS. This will all come crashing down. It always does. Nobody just takes a loss like there doing.

maybe cases will gradually go higher as more people realize it's legit. I'd be curious to know the distributors costs, maybe they aren't taking as big a loss as you guys think. I've noticed some cases prices increase by 10% in a few days ending in auction. BTW, I was a buyer, and BTW, this is all going to come crashing down. Now I'm nervous. Dammit, I'm so stupid.

Lets just say that if I thought it was legit, I would buying a case of sterling....

The house of cards has to crumble at some point....

Unless they are getting these cases for FREE somehow, it has to come to an end.

Sounds like someone is trying to force out the competition by flooding the streets with cheaper addictive product. Or am I getting this confused with American Gangster :)

I think a lot of it has to do with the switch from BINs to Auction Style listings. She was doing very low BINs but is now just doing straight auctions, and realizing higher sales prices. This isn't atypical to what she did in the past in a sense with her BINs. She started way to low and then upped the price as she sold out. For example, 10 cases of draft at $500 each, sold out, upped the price. The only one I saw her come down on was 2010 Bowman Chrome.

The Platinum prices were really nice too.

It's all below factory cost on product that the market isn't necessarily down on.

I understand why people dump under performing product, but this is a case where they are moving product that did ok at WAY less than market.

Mamabear is a search and re-seal operation.

Bill said his case seemed "puffy" and was very mediocre. BMP1(?) just bought what he thought was a resealed box, that seemed "puffy".

They search, take out the best hits. Sell them on another account to get cash flow. Fill the cases back up and that accounts for the delay.

I totally just made that up, but, it is so stupid that it might just be true.

Just for the record, I have not bought anything from mamma_bear and cant say anything about the seller.

(mostly nonsensical) response to inquiry received by someone on blowout:

Hi, thanks for bidding. I do not own a card shop, but work with a couple of master distributors to buy the overstock cases that card shops are forced to buy from the manufacturers in order to maintain the ability to buy direct. The dealers are forbidden by the manufacturesr from selling online at such low prices. The release date of this product is 1/19 and I get my cases 3 to 4 days later to ship out.
Thanks again

- mama_bear**

seems to be some kind of front for masters to direct dump cases nobody is ordering for less than they are allowed to resell to dealers. even so that doesn't explain leaving tens of thousands on the table. it is really weird. this person is either a criminal or a moron.

A couple weeks ago I made a request regarding Bowman Platinum cases which they were selling at $849. I emailed them and asked if I can get it quicker. They said, for $50 per case more I can get a 2 day delivery. Their prices are with the slowest possible shipping method, but you always have the option for faster shipping.

Only problem I had was when I went to order the cases, they were gone.

$849.00
+ 50.00
= still cheaper than anyone else.

I think you meant bmp1971. No biggie either way. I just saw he posted about resealed boxes and has a name similar to mine.
