Has it actually been confirmed that 06 UD SFX Blues are /25?

I was always under the impression they were worthless, since BV is only 1.2X base. Pretty sure I passed up quite a few when I started collecting again, before I knew what they were. I've only stumbled across 3 myself: Todd Walker, Miguel Tejada, and Mike Cameron. If these are legitimately that rare, they have to go down as the sneakiest rare parallel ever, even more so than the 2005 Diamond Kings Non-Canvas. I've found more of those in dime boxes than I have of these Blues!

The above bolded is incorrect. The sneakiest parallel is 2004 Upper Deck Diamond Pro Sigs Hall of Famers red.

I believe that they are a print run of 10, everyone disagrees with me. I have seen 3 in my life time and passed on 1 because it was damaged at $45. If you believe differently sell me your ryan for $40. When I get 11 of them I will give up and believe that they are much more common.

Yikes. I've never even heard of these Red parallels. The big Beckett lists the base set checklist, without pricing due to 'market scarcity', but doesn't mention a Red parallel. There's pretty much no info on them at all, other than supposedly being inserted 1 per starter box (whatever that means). There's a Seaver and a Reese on my wantlist from this set, so I might be able to delete them if they're this limited.

ATTENTION PLAYER COLLECTORS:

JustCommons.com has a bunch of the red ones available. I picked up an Adam Wainwright for a couple dollars a few months ago, here is the list (they also have a bunch of other colors):

http://www.justcommons.com/index.php?di ... ory_id=707

Thanks for spreading the word on our site. Maybe i could help alittle with this product. Back in 2006 we opened about 20 cases of this product. Lost our shirt
back then as believed this would be UDs version of Chrome but never caught on.. We used to break a ton back then and used to do player lots. This product didnt do well when it was released and we decided to just make full sets to move the product. Unfortuently Beckett states as they do now that set goes to 1025 yet we didnt find any cards over #1005 ( broke over 20 cases) thus making it harder to sell complete sets when supposedly 20 cards were missing. We even went looking fo rthose card #s with no luck. Which is why we have a good supply of them on out website.
We also saw the blue refractors whcih werent numbered and thought they were odd. Thought they were numbered to #/25 ourselves as we had about 1/2 the amount of the red /50 ones. Put them on the side. Now i have to go find them somewhere. Probably have about 100 or so of them. Though im sure alot of them were in our regular cards as was easy to miss as they werent numbered.
So glad the word is spreading about the Blues and hopefully story will come out on the shortage of cards #1006-1025 and if they are out there I believe must be extremely rare
Numbers 1006 and 1007 are on Sportlots right now.

One thing I do remember about these is that it's tough to tell some of the blues apart from the base cards. Some base cards have a blue sheen to them, especially players on teams with blue in their uniforms so the Dodgers, Mariners, Royals ect....

Maybe its time to list my Fielder red. Might be one of those cards which book for nothing but sells well.

Are there any other places like COMC or Sportlots?

The beckett marketplace has a little under 100 of them listed. It appears this might be one of the few times people can get a steal from Burbank if your player happens to be listed as he appears to have most listed at under $1

Thank you to this guy, my haul came in today:

I must have gotten extremely lucky, because I picked up the Duchscherer blue well before the red (and even the purple).

Add me to the list:

I'm unlucky enough to collect a guy that has two cards in the set (Bronson Arroyo). I've got one of the blues, #71, but need a blue of #569 (he's pictured with the Reds).

Also need the Silver Spectrum of #71, which according to Beckett (i think), is listed as /25. Can anyone confirm that those are /25?

Also, I have a series 2 printing plate (#569) on my list, but no printing plate in series 1. Is that how they did it? Only plates in series 2?

I'd offer lots for either the blue 569 or silver 71.... just to be able to show off that massive dual rainbow!

Here's my list of Bronson cards in the set. Does it jive with everyone's understanding of the set?

2006 Upper Deck #71
2006 Upper Deck Gold #71 /299
2006 Upper Deck Silver Spectrum #71 /25
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X #71
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Purple #71 /150
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Green #71 /99
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Red #71 /50
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Blue #71 /25?
2006 Upper Deck #569
2006 Upper Deck Gold #569 /299
2006 Upper Deck Silver Spectrum #569 /99
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X #569
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Purple #569 /150
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Green #569 /99
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Red #569 /50
2006 Upper Deck Special F/X Blue #569 /25?
2006 Upper Deck Printing Plates Black #569 /1

I realize now that this was issued in one series. Always thought it was two, bc that's the way reg UD was issued, right? And that explains teh discrepancy in silver and printing plates?

Weird.
