Has the line between Exquisite /225 and /99 been blurred?

I remember a year ago at this time the feeling was that the Exquisite Patch/Auto's /225 were simply a lower class than the /99's. Examples were shown to illustrate that /99's have gone for huge numbers, while /225's never did. The counterargument was that while there is obviously a difference between /99 and /225, a large part of the discrepancy was because the quality of player to that point in the /99 blew the quality of player in the /225 sets, and if a real star emerged from the /225 players, it would do quite well.

Looking this year and at Russell Westbrook especially it seems like the line between /225 and /99 has lessened. His Exquisite is getting over $500, which is more than Deron Williams /99 has sold for in recent listings (even before surgery.)

This is what I've been seeing. Anyone agree, disagree?

(On a side note, if someone has a Deron Williams Exquisite Patch/Auto /99 that they might move, let me know...)

Hot player on a hot team. Very nice 3clr patches of Westbrook were going off at 250-300 in the off season. If westbrook were a /99 I believe it would be 4 figures for his exquisite.

Even though Deron Williams only gets $350-$450 these days despite being /99?

I haven't followed his sales, but a quick search only resulted in a 625.00 sale with the rest at 1200 b.o or higher.

I would buy 3 at 350 and hope he somehow lands in LA in a year.

Honestly, it has more to do with the player itself than what the card is numbered to.

If the Lebron was numbered to 225, it would still go for THOUSANDS of dollars, as would Wade, Derrick Rose, Durant, etc.........
