See, this is the problem I have with the Flyers front office. Why give him a contract with that bonus in it if all you're going to do is screw him out of it by having him play a game with the Phantoms?

I highly doubt he would have played 25 minutes a game anyway.

Just another ::facepalm::

yeah why automatically screw the guy out of his bonus which would have been pretty hard to get anyway.

The only thing I can think of is, you put the bonus in there to urge him to sign the contract. It's not like he had a choice to go to the Phantoms or not. The only thing they hurt by doing it this way is most likely Schenn's feelings. Even with the upper body injury they say he has struggled with through the pre-season, he still had a decent showing with several multi-point games.

It just has me shaking my head because the only way he was going to get 25+ minutes a game was if he was on the first line, power play, and penalty kill lines which noone expected due to the emergence of Jagr and Simmonds, plus the play of Giroux.

I just hope he's back by next week. I want to see him play live.

All teams will have numbers on the front of their helmets. I don't like the look of this.

Flyers didn't sign him to that stupid contract, the Kings did. Great move by Flyers to do AHL move for 1 game and get cap space on the books right away.
I doubt anyone picks up Avery. I want him in NHL, he does add some spice and is good for a few brew hahs every year. But one way to get blackballed out of the league is to start reporting to the media on what is said on the ice. What is said on ice between players stays there.

paging G$. How is the Hopkins looking in Edmonton. Does he have a good chance to stick with big club this year. I know they get 9 games to decide and can send him back to juniors if they want.

I'm excited to see Nugent-Hopkins live and in person. He damn well better play on the 18th against the Wild.

I noticed that in warm-ups for Friday nights game. I didn't really get any picture friday cause nobody wears helmets during warm-ups, but I got this one of Orlov on Sunday.

Yeah, I figured that out. The Kings did it to him too to avoid paying the bonus. Looks like he'll be back by the home opener. :D

Raise banner at TD Garden tonight and get this season started tonight.

I hope we see some fireworks in Boston. Rinaldo will be out looking, but will he step up and take on Thornton.
Bucco does Big Mac get a jersey tonight? Canucks will play tougher this year, after Boston pushed them around. Volpatti will be out looking. Habs-Leafs will be a snoozer. I doubt Orr plays, Habs will play their usual smurf and euro hockey style.

I don't think Big Mac will dress much this season. I'm actually surprised he made the team.

Hockey is finally back. The Canucks have rested most of their vets in the offseason. Not too many changes. Ehrhoff, Torres out Sturm, Weise in. Kesler and Raymond are recovering. I hope I can catch a game when they are in Dallas.
