Dont skate so far outside the net. Fair game outside the crease. I wish it would happen more. The Sabres let them get away with it too. Boston has to do something to get their season kick started.

that was very strange. even though I feel the goalie needs to know he is going to get hit if he is out there his teammates still need to let the Bruins know they didn't appreciate the hit but they did not.

1. I'm okay with the penalty that was called as it is against the rules.
2. I agree FULLY that goalies should be fair game if they're coming that far out of the crease. I mean really, should Lucic just pull up as soon as he sees the goalie leave the crease?
3. I can't even comprehend the fact the Sabres did NOTHING in retaliation. If that had happened to Thomas or Rask, you know 90% of the B's roster would have taken out whoever did it.
4. Miller needs to calm down in his interview after the game where he complained that Lucic has 50 pounds on him. Does Miller think he's the only small guy that's been hit by a bigger guy? I think not.

He'll get 5 games.
And then go back into his shell when he gets back. Which is too bad, because he was finally starting to play with all of his strengths.

A 16 year old has died in Alberta after blocking a shot. He took it in the neck and died from the injury. Incredibly tragic.

There's a right way and a wrong way to block a shot, and if coaches aren't going to teach it, the players shouldn't be doing it. Even NHL'era do it wrong.

I've always been a believer in that if you're out of a safe distance of the crease (2 or 3 feet) or out of the trapezoid, you're fair game. It wasn't a malicious hit so I don't see Lucic missing any games.

Flyers beat the Panthers today 3-2 :) They have Carolina Monday before heading back home.

And I'm 4-0 in my fantasy hockey league. :D Catching hell from the LM about dropping my 2nd and 3rd round picks (Iginla and Kovalchuk), but I picked up Weiss (5g 7a) and Seguin (11g 9a) when I dropped them. And I still don't regret drafting Jagr (6g 9a) over Briere (5g 8a).

They'll give him 1 or 2 because Miller is out.
I didn't see Lucic go for his head, but with the size difference, I think his elbow or shoulder may have caught him.

I'm just glad the Wild are leading their division at this point. And my next Wild game is in exactly two weeks. I get to see them play the Lightning. It will be my first time seeing Stamkos live. So I'm pretty pumped about that. Hopefully he doesn't dominate the Wild though. Maybe just a goal and the Wild still win like 4-1 would be fun. :D

Also, this has bugged me for a while now. So I guess I'll ask you guys and get your opinions on the matter. Why isn't Josh Harding starting for the Wild more often? As in, their starting primary goalie. I realize Backstrom is an above average goaltender, but it seems like when Harding is on the ice we play really well and the dude is pretty damn good. Is it just coincidence that we happen to win most of the time when Harding starts and he's playing fantastic this season?

I don't know a whole lot about Harding or Backstrom. So I figured I'd ask for your opinions. Since most of you guys are much more knowledgable about hockey than I am.

How are you comparing a goalie to a quarterback?

Using that analogy, if a QB goes outside the pocket, he runs the risk of being run over. Hell, a QB always runs the risk of being run over. If a goalie leaves the crease, especially as far off as the face-off dot, he should understand the risks. Hockey is a game of contact and things happen. Same thing happened with Richards and he didn't get a penalty called, he even scored on the play.

And before you say, "Miller has a concussion," let me say this. Unless it's a blatant, intent to injure style hit, injury should not cause a suspension.

I think it is funny how 6'7 Tyler Myers was a healthy scratch after watching his franchise goalie got hit and he did nothing.

About time!

And how about them Wild? Tied for 1st in the NHL with the Blackhawks with 27 points. I can dig it.

I'm going to the November 23rd and November 28th games against Nashville and Tampa Bay, respectively. Woooo!
