Dont know what the hell else to say

Same results as usual, Flames just barely miss the playoffs again and since they just barely miss the playoffs, they dont even get a high draft pick. I swear there has never been a team in NHL history other than the Flames that have never had a top 5 draft pick(not including those 6 years in Atlanta).

it sure does. Brad Thiessen will be in goal tonight versus the Senators and MAF will play tomorrow night versus the Devils.

the Pens play the Islanders twice this week so MAF should be able to at least tie Barrasso this week if not pass him.

Predators get well against the Jets 3-1. Pekka Rinne gets his 40th win of the season.

Tough stretch of games upcoming starting with the Blackhawks tonight.

Quebec City to have arena by 2015

The realization of the NHL coming back to Quebec City took a bit step forward on Sunday when Mayor Regis Labeaume announced plans for a $400 million 18,000-seat arena that will begin construction in September and be ready by Sept. 2015. Labeaume said the arena would be comparable to that of CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Also in attendance was Pierre-Karl Peladeau, President and CEO of media conglomerate Quebecor, who has expressed interest in buying an NHL team should one come available. Quebecor was also granted naming rights to the soon-to-be built arena and will manage the facility.
From the Journal de Quebec (via Google translation):
Peladeau has also insisted that Quebec will certainly not be ashamed when it compare to other cities with modern lecture theaters. "There is no doubt, in September 2015 we will inaugurate a modern multifunctional amphitheater, comparable to what is best in North America. From day one, it will be a source of great pride for the citizens of Quebec and all Quebecers. The stage of no return is crossed, "he said.
Labeaume told those in attendance at the press conference he wouldn't be answering any questions related to a future NHL tenant in the building. That's in following the True North Sports and Entertainment route of doing your due diligence and keeping quiet until the NHL says the team is yours.
RDS' Renaud Lavoie Tweeted that the NHL would not comment on the arena news.
In March, Labeaume said that millions of dollars in upgrades would be completed this summer to Le Colisee, the former home of the Nordiques; so should the Phoenix Coyotes -- or any other NHL team given the sharp left turn that happened a year ago -- have to be relocated this summer, a temporary home in Quebec would be available for the next three years while the new arena is being built.

Only playoffs Calgary is gonna see this year is the WHL Playoffs which began several days ago, with the Calgary Hitmen against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Series is tied at 1-1, with the next three games in Brandon (actually i heard they are gonna play their playoff games in Winnipeg for the big arena).

I have tickets to game six back in Calgary next Sunday.

Here is the WHL website if anyone is interested in following the playoffs....

With the new arena being bulit that pretty much guarantees that Quebec City will get an NHL team back soon. I wonder if Denver would be willing to give Quebec their team back? :)

not to mention, i bet at least half the people that attend the Panthers games are either Canadians that are on vacation or Canadians that have winter home down there or Canadians that have retired around Miami

I would imagine it will be Phoenix that moves to Quebec City.

After that, add another team in Southern Ontario somewhere. They EASILY have the population and the love of the game there to support another NHL team.

I honestly think that Hershey, PA can support a team better than Florida.

I think that Seattle deserves a shot at an NHL team. Hamilton could probably support a team, but would Toronto, and Buffalo let a team get put there? Dont know my cities in Canada well enough to say where else, maybe Regina or Saskatoon
