Was on the old Beckett and got an email from Magicpapa letting me know about FCB. I owe him a lot, as I probably would have not continued on any card collecting boards after Beckett.

Member of Beckett since 04. When the site turned to crap, I kinda fell out of cards for a while.

This is the ironic thing. Beckett is supposed to support the hobby and draw interest to the hobby. I wonder if they realize how many people they pushed away from collecting all together by changing their site on that Legendary day in early August of 2008?

I've thought the same thing.
Had that been the "message board" in 06', I probably would have saved myself a lot of time and loads of money, because I'm not sure I would have jumped back into the hobby like I did.
It was easy to find the Beckett site and it was the first place I went when I started to look for information online.
Having the chance to check out the box breaks, the contests, the people (many now here) that were there to help is what got me to dive back into the hobby head-first.

I'm not sure that would have been the case if the site existed then in it's current format.
It bugged me that after the changes they seemed to regard the board as an after-thought and something that wasn't crucial to the site, seeming to not really care about all the members who did post there......seemed they really didn't realize that it was a "gate-way" into the hobby for many people.

You can just hope people starting or getting back into the hobby will be able to find this site.
