I got here as a result of the inbetween board.

Mypens and I struck an agreement, and that agreement went downhill when he got bored.

You all know what happened next.

Basically the scene from that movie, but he was replaced the role of the dog. He got rabies and Chris had to put him down.
Pretty funny.

Haha I saved that email:

wanted to send this letter out to all of my fellow collectors. As many of you may know, and I am sure some of you do not, I am an administrator and the initial founder of what now is FCB. When the old Beckett boards went through their change to a new format, I decided to make a similar message board that everyone could go to, who did not like the new beta version of the Beckett message boards. I was surprised by the overwhelming exodus of members to the boards that I set up. Eventually Beckett threatened me because I had their name in the site initially, and I needed to change the name or shut down. It was then recommended, that I just form a new board that was hosted entirely by me. So with the help of Chris Gilmore, I got everyone to move to what I thought was "our" new site, the now named FreedomCardBoard.

Everything was great at first, but I couldn't help but notice how Chris seemed to take credit for everything, when I was the one who got all of us together initially and moved everyone from my own board to FCB. As time has passed, I realized that Gilmore had used me into getting the collectors to go to what he knew would be his site. Gilmore gets tons of money from all of his eBay links and even free boxes of cards, which I am fine with. He has not offered me anything, that is also fine with me. At the time, I was dumb enough to "hand" over my idea to him. I had asked him numerous times if he wanted me to help him with anything, hoping he would infer that I wanted more involved with the site. All I hear and see is Chris bragging about "his site" and posting about Razor. I think Razor has great intentions, but is majorly overhyped on FCB because of the administrator of the site.

I now have decided to move on to a new place, since I feel that FCB is run by greed and the desire to use it as a advertising site for a certain card manufacturer. It is not truly a "freedom" board as I would have liked it to be. This is not the site that I had envisioned. I would hope that you would join me, where we can once again have the open forum that we did at the old Beckett, w/o anyone's hidden agendas. If we did it before, then we can do it again, all it takes is patience in letting it grow. The site may be slow at first, but I know that we can make it "the" place to discuss our collecting passions. I wish FCB the best, but it is time for me to move on. I would appreciate your support in joining me. I am not telling anyone to leave FCB, I would just be happy to have you be a member of my site also.

Thank you for your consideration

^Thanked.

I always thought Mike was a good guy.....but from what I understand he did absolutely nothing for FCB, and Chris designed the site and paid for the server and did most everything for this site (at the time, I know bouwob and others have helped out a lot programming the site). Mike did not like Chris taking all of the credit although Mike doesn't know how to run a fully functional site like this one and was mad that the mods wouldn't let him help out even when there was nothing for him to do.

He cried wolf and used the site (what he had access to as a mod) to send out that email as well as spam the site he was going to (CI).

Lots of drama, lol.

Mike was and probably is still a good guy.

What happened was a result of poor communication between the two of us and some bad advise that he followed.

I thought Mike was a great guy. It probably didn't bother you too much when he left did it? It just put all the eggs in your basket.

Yes, it bothered me and it still bothers me.

FCB isn't and never will be about money. This is a labor of love, and it will always be that.

And for the record, all the eggs aren't in my basket. John (bouwob) is a co owner.

I was on about 3 smaller boards, and then I joined Topps MB. I was just going to hang around for advice (this was mid-08 I believe...) and eventually that summer, I started trading... Over time I learned of FCB and SCF. I joined SCF first but my account was never approved. I remember liking FCB on facebook and not being a member... I eventually joined though... I made another account on SCF since I couldn't contact any mods, and left shortly after because I hate it there.
