Well thanks to Rose Legacy set by Leaf there are 1297. Printing plates alone for that set there are 961. I only own 1 1/1 and unless I pull it I'm not spending the money on one just too crazy.

Comparatively, Dawson has relatively few plates.

Only 128/532 1/1s are plates. Most of his 1/1s are 2004-2005 DLP.

As for me, Albert Belle has 45 true 1/1s (not including printing/press plates) from 1988 to 2001 and I have zero

That is insane. I'm sure there are players in M&M who have even MORE red 1/1s.

I remember this. Now you have to order by print run but for you guys who have hundreds or thousands this isn't any help lol

Also, I just noticed that beckett recognizes some white whale printing plates having a print run of 1 but in fact there are 4 of each ::facepalm:: I adjusted in my own records that they have a print run of 4.

I guess I'm pretty lucky compared to you guys. Reggie Sanders has 183 1/1s out of 1256 cards. I'd say about 90-95% of those are plates. I have 2 of the true 1/1s and 1 plate. They don't ever pop up though, but I'd buy them if I saw them.

I knew Dawson had a lot of 1/1s, but was blown away by the amount of cards /5 or less.

My dear lord that is ridiculous. ~25% total are 1/1's, and ~33% serial #'d are 1/1's. I remember when people started complaining about over production of inserts, then of GU, then of autos, but 1/1's wins hands down.

Depends on what your definition of 1/1 is. Donruss produced sample sets of pretty much every card in the mid 90's and beyond and they were almost all "1/1"s. Between those and all the printing plates, I wouldn't be surprised if there are well over 1,000 mcgwire 1/1's.

How many do you have? I'm guessing a lot since you're >90% of all McGwire cards out there...

Puckett has about 400 or so 1/1's and I have one of them but I don't actively go after them due to cost. I do have about 20 Justin Morneau 1/1's in my collection though.
