First of all I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to my collection. I need to give major public shoutouts to magicpapa, cobrasvt29, scotty21690 and George_Calfalas for helping me out.

Magic and I finished a deal for this and a sealed 1994 superstars sampler pack of Mo Vaughn (pretty rare) and of cousrse Michael threw in some extras (thank you):

Cobrasvt29 always shoots me links to auctions and hits BIN's for me for stuff that he knows I want. He called me and told me he got these for me:

scan0001-6.jpg

They are 1996 Zenith Diamond Stud cards which were at the top of my list for my player collections. He also picked up some more goodies for me that I thought I scanned - but can't find them now. Several Artist Proof's/serial numbered cards/jerseys etc of my three guys. Thanks Chad!

After posting the two diamond cards in the 90's thread George_Calfalas posted that he picked up 2 Klesko's and wanted to see if anyone had a spare to trade. I didn't but asked George to sell it to me... No Dice. George sent this out and I got it in about 2 days, Thanks George!

I now want to go for the set, and I've mised out on several recently, but I know they'll pop up again and hopefully I won't be so strapped for cash.

Last but not least, scotty21690 and I closed a deal for a Goudey card that he was selling. Well low and behold, Scott couldn't find the card so he immediately refunded my paypal and told me he was going to take care of me. Well, I received a package that contained a good amount of 70's cards of star players and this bad boy:

Piedmont back of Rude Manning! I couldn't believe it. This was a great way to jumpstart my vintage collection. Thank you, Scott.

- Now to some pickups over the past month or two (don't post maildays too often)

For the Vintage PC:

and this GEM:

I always wanted a Maris auto and felt this was a very clean and unique piece so I treated myself to it!

Here's some random pickups!

Some Chipper PC goodies!

and a bunch more (I'm talking about 200+ base and inserts unscanned)

This is by far my favorite purchase. I talked to this guy who collected Tim Hudson for a while and was deciding to sell off his collection. Well this guys had almost EVERY card that I've been missing. This is a mailday for a player collector. Bringing in all of these rare parallel cards at once was simply amazing. Without further adu, here's my favorites from what I bought from him:

These now complete my rainbow of Omega RC's of Hudson. I only need the 1999 Bowman Chrome International/100 and I'll be set!

http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/braves2008champs/Tim Hudson NFT/?start=all

I picked up over 125 serial numbered cards (Most numbered to 100 or less) from 1999-2002 and close to 40 base cards that I was missing. I told the guy that after seeing all the new additions to my collection I don't know how I even considered myself a player collector of Tim.

Here's my other favorite Hudson pickup

Sorry my scanning sucks - hope you all enjoyed!

Thanks,

It's great how the Strasburg flag 1/1 is just thrown in there. :P That's more than I've picked up in the past year-and-a-half! Great stuff. Congrats! :)

Damn John...you wern't kidding when you said you spent too much recently! You really gonna try to do the Diamond Club set? I think that would get pretty expensive and tough to put together, but sure would be a nice set.

Thanks, Steve. I got the Mathewson for around 50, I believe. Not good condition (the creases aren't white, just scanned that way) but I figured what the hell, right - I can always upgrade :) It was my first T-206 purchase so I was pumped. This vintage stuff has caught on with me!

The Diamond Cards vary in price. An Arod sold for over 50 recently and most of the lesser star caliber guys went under $25. The Vaughn and Chipper together were right around $50 - Burbank

And great price on the Mathewson!

Thanks Scott- yeah, addicting is a great way to put it. I rather spend $50 on a Mathewson like that then some of the garbage that is put out today in gem mint condition. And there is NO WAY I'll be able to compete with your vintage collection :D . Yours is just an inspiration of what sets to look up and players that I don't think about everyday

Chad - slowly but surely I'll go for it. Definitely something I'm not going to start dropping some major coin on anytime soon. Would love to complete it eventually though. Need to slow down and turn over some cards that I've got now.

Tony - Of course the auction didn't close and I didn't think it would but I got 2 offers that I could have made some money on. I'll hold till the draft

Love the Hudsons man. If I wasn't into collecting Oswalt, I would be collecting him.

Some great cards there - congrats! Like others, I love the Maris/Aaron autos, but I was more jealous of the very first card you posted. I would LOVE to find a '97 Pinnacle Inside Diamond card of my player. I've been looking for sooooo long!

I appreciate the comments, guys. I won't be able to add much to the collection for a while so I went out in a bang. Time to get organized, sell/trade off some stuff and regroup. I always am appreciative of the members here so I'm not leaving but the pickups will be few and far between. Lost out on Chuck's purple crusade last night by a few dollars, and I'm not even upset about it. For me, that is a step in the right direction . Time to sit back and see other people's collections grow.

TNP777 - pretty sweet looking in hand - wish it scanned better. I'm still in search of my Chipper though :(
