How about we leave the political slurs to your local townhall meetings. I don't come to the board to read insults.

Then don't read and don't respond....you have the ability to foe...move on.

And you have the ability to vote and run for local office and write letters to your representatives. Instead, you come to the baseball hobby discussion board to carry out your agenda against people who are equally powerless to change what's happening by making themselves look like asses.

Take it back to the General Board.

In other words, you think an anonymous buyer wouldn't have had this ordeal?

Maybe.

And if so, it might be time to create a second ID.

I don't think so. If someone's not paying attention to their BINs, a minor leaguer could start tearing it up and they won't notice. All of the sudden a 8 dollar card becomes a 10 dollar card and a 15 dollar BIN becomes a 20 dollar BIN. You just woke up the beast.

I pretty much assume that if I make an offer on a BIN the seller will look to see how that player is doing as of late.

You are a lib and I doubt it was a $20 card. And if JP made an offer then the BIN still was not in question.

I understand that your mobile home's out of propane, but stop being a *****. I just of easily could've used X instead of an actual number but I hear that's how your people sign their names and I didn't care to confuse you.

"you people" Hmmmmm, a hypocritacal Lib....I thought all people were your people.

I make fun of trailer parks too....only it is in a business sense, not a judgemental sense.[/quote:w0j2aeru]

Your people, as in, the kind of people that can't quite spell those big ol' words with more than eight letters.[/quote:w0j2aeru]

 - the typo argument is the best. I type at a very fast rate and hit submit at an even faster rate...

Wow. You really are a baby politically, aren't you? I would have had no idea what pigskin said since he's on my foe list already. Your quotes helped me understand the other end of your ranting. It's pretty ironic someone who is hanging onto the things you are - in angst - to tell someone else to "move on."

You're on my foe list now.. so take your own advice and - "move on".

How the hell is that even relevant? Take it over to 'General Chat'. Please don't derail this thread.

No I'm not. You had and have not point, shouldn't have posted and are now looking like the "baby." It is 11:52 on a Friday night, I'm having a little fun at a Lib's expense and then mr. no life decided to bother me....move on.

I don't see anything wrong with it, maybe because I've been on the seller's side. You could have originally hit the bin as well. If I was in your shoes, I probably would have made your offer, decline the counteroffer and move on. I think it's safe to say that you being the potential buyer has to with what happened as well.

I offered a card here for a very good price (due to the volatility of the card). Both potential buyers countered me with a lower price before I decided to keep the card. I knew the card has potential and came to realize I should be able to sell it for at least 50% more than the price I had originally offered it at so I stopped from selling myself short. Both potential buyers did eventually offer to pay the original price but not before I realized how ridiculously cheap I had priced it.

These posts never happen when a guy throws out his arm and then needs Tommy John Surgery. The seller was not obligated to sell at your offer price. You possibly alerted him to a HOT card, he had second thoughts about selling at a particular price and then changed price. It's no different than listing a wax box at a price, the price shoots up and then the seller relists it at a higher price because he no longer wants to sell at the original price. You should have bought at his BIN price if you were happy at that. Otherwise another lesson to be learned about greed,,,,,,,,,,,, `Cannot fault a seller if he thinks he can get more money for his item.............He did not make a deal with you and didn't back out. I would definately side with you then>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I dont necessarily think JP is complaining about the seller raising his price

I think he's complaining because the seller is a member here and knew it was JP offering, so he raised the price because of that

One of the reasons why one needs to be careful when boasting about steals and such

Sellers might be turned off and refuse to sell in future

I am not saying this is the reason why in this case but it's a thought that popped in my head in past when there have been posts by others bragging about how they bought at ________ and flipped it at _______

No, I have a problem with both.

Hmmm, then maybe my statement above had something to do with it
I guess hitting the BIN would have ended any problems

It happened to me right before the Jonathan Singleton hype, and the seller was also a board member, although a non active member. socialsignatures was selling a Singleton Aflac Auto and I made a more than reasonable offer, more than reasonable meaning $10 or so above the highest auction on the completed auctions list. He responded by raising his BIN price, and countering to me a price that was above his previous BIN price (if that makes sense). I obviously declined.

It's definitely a horrible business practice (although no deal had been agreed on yet) to pull stuff like that

Who dunnit JP?

I want to block the clown

I don't believe I'm guilty of boasting about steals here.

I'll post maildays and sometimes reveal how much I paid for cards, if asked.

Boasting, though? If you can show me an example of this, feel free.
