Ok... well lets see here the playoff I said would work is basically what basketball does. So from your statements you are also stating that the College Basketball season has no importance and that the teams that make it in as At-Large Bids don't deserve to be in the NCAA Tourny. And that if there should be a team in the near future to go undefeated going into the NCAA Tourny they should automatically win. Like St Joes 4 or 5 years ago or Memphis 2 years ago.Penno said:josh3302 said:Please give me 3 reasons why. A 16 team playoff would be HORRIBLE for college football.
1. It takes away the importance of the regular season. Every single week of the football season is important. Come prepared for every game knowing it might be you only chance.
2. It decreases the fairness for the teams that went undefeated. For example, a team like Penn State who does not in the least bit deserve a chance to be the MNC has atleast a 1/16 shot.
3. I do not support, at all, anyone playing for the MNC that did not win their conference. How can Florida be the MNC w/o first being an SEC champ, or Iowa w/o being Big 10 champ.
Now, I think some of the BCS bowls might be broken, but I'm content w/ the BCS determining the MNC. I'm not for any playoff that is bigger than 3 or 4 teams.
