Right after that there was a blown call at first base by Bob Davidson. This is where a manager has to attempt to deflect some of the hostility on the field on to himself. He should have immediately come out of the dugout and argued the call.
Get the officials mad at him and not his starting pitcher. Walk out, cause a bit of a ruckus, and get yourself ejected for the good of your team. Most good managers would have done that, and its one of a few tricks that Bobby Cox employs.

I didn't see the game, but was in Dallas over the weekend when Bob D. was behind the plate and threw John Lackey out 2 pitches into the game for beaning Ian Kinsler. I thought it was a really quick ejection (I later found out the umpires thought there was intent as Kinsler hit 2 Jacks on Friday night). I think it is very interesting how controversy tends to follow certain umpires around the league.
