I had a chance to see his high-school team play, I was all set to go and . . . He didn't play (game was in Southern California) as he was at a Top Prospects Camp.

mucho mucho mucho $800?bballcardkid said:I still havent seen an auto /5 surface yet. I would be curious to see what it would bring.
I know a Freshman who's 6'2'' 215'' and can hit 450ft bombs, i'd know he hit one against my team last year and he hit one left too, kids are so damn big now.A_Pharis said:16 years old, 6'3" and 205 lbs? Hitting 460 ft + homers?
At 16 years old?
That's pretty abnormal strength/size for someone who just turned 16.

beefycheddar said:The ceiling on this card entirely depends on how many sets UD puts him in by the end of the year. If he goes in every set like Strasburg was then it will go down like Strasburg's timelines.

I would have to disagree with this. Harper, unlike Strasburg, will not be drafted for another two years and so unless he makes the 2009 USA team as well, these cards will be it for him until 2011 arrives. In addition, Harper has but 3 different cards in this product, whereas Strasburg is all over it. And even if Harper does make the 09 USA team, remember that the 08 USA product's print run is only 1/3rd that of previous years, and I have it on good word that UD won't be replicating this format in next year's USA boxed sets, due to the lack of enthusiasm for the higher SRP.
I'm sure someone will help him out with it, but in pros will probably just be a left fielder or something.trevordchi said:Not likely he sticks at catcher unless he improves those throwing mechanics... Yes, I know he is 16.

Yeah they are changing it, but what happens if he makes it and they know he was the biggest card in this set so they go crazy with him in actual packed out products? He comes out with an on card or something like the Ultimate's in the next few years and I think the sticker autograph will not be as chased. This set is considered a 2009 release correct? There is a lot of time in the year to get him in another set for UD. If they are smart and want a card that will really be chased, they would put him in as much as they can.

I know some guys are just that much better than everyone else and it's not even close, when i was like 10 Petey Paramore and Shawn Tolleson were at the school i go to now and they were on another level from everyone else especially Tolleson who was All-State in Texas his sophmore year and threw like 2 no-no's that year.LLWesMan said:aw00d05 said:I know a Freshman who's 6'2'' 215'' and can hit 450ft bombs, i'd know he hit one against my team last year and he hit one left too, kids are so damn big now.A_Pharis said:16 years old, 6'3" and 205 lbs? When I played against Wallace in high school he was a sophomore and hit two 400 foot HR's against us.

Yea that happens a ton where one player can carry his team if he pitches and can hit, i think they changed Texas to a 3 game series so unless guys are superman it's tough for them to do that.LLWesMan said:aw00d05 said:I know some guys are just that much better than everyone else and it's not even close, when i was like 10 Petey Paramore and Shawn Tolleson were at the school i go to now and they were on another level from everyone else especially Tolleson who was All-State in Texas his sophmore year and threw like 2 no-no's that year.LLWesMan said:aw00d05 said:I know a Freshman who's 6'2'' 215'' and can hit 450ft bombs, i'd know he hit one against my team last year and he hit one left too, kids are so damn big now.A_Pharis said:16 years old, 6'3" and 205 lbs? My junior year we had the first undefeated season in the history of our conference, #1 seed and regionally ranked for playoffs. First round we play a wild card team, they start BJ (later to be known as Brandon) Morrow. He hit 97 mph in the 7th inning and threw a one hit shutout and knocked in the only run of the game to eliminate us. We also beat Bud Norris twice that year but Morrow was transcendent.

No actually, this was considered a 2008 product.

Then what is the set that was already 2008 considered?
It was from the 07 team, but released in 08.beefycheddar said:Jaypers said:beefycheddar said:Jaypers said:beefycheddar said:The ceiling on this card entirely depends on how many sets UD puts him in by the end of the year.
