I figured some people on here are such fans of the game that they have other teams that they root for in the event that their favorites don't go deep into the playoffs.

I am hoping the Red Sox win the AL, but if not, I would be happy to see the Twins go on to the World Series.

I hope the Giants win the NL, but if not, I would be happy to see any team except the Dodgers go to the World Series.

The Reds, in reality, have a much better chance of winning the NL anyway.

I hope the Tigers win the AL but if not, I'd like to see the young home-grown talent of the Rays take them to the World Series again.

In the NL, I hope the Cubs figure it out (this year? yeah right.), but if not, I'd like to see the Marlins put it together for a playoff year.


Sadly, none of my wants are likely to happen this year. I do think the Tigers could take the AL Central though, even though no one else seems to think so.

I actually think a lot of people overlook the Tigers. I am more worried about them than the White Sox. With Verlander and Scherzer at the top, they can compete with just about anybody's 1-2.

After Yanks:

Royals: became a baseball fan in the early 80's and enjoyed Bret and Brett, Wilson, etc.
Twins: I don't many people can dislike them. The managers they've had I've respected and that's a big part of it
A's: As a displaced CT resident here in NorCal, I've seen my share of A's baseball and they're the consummate underdog

Team I'd least like to see win:
Red Sox: In fact, after seeing the Yanks winning the WS, the thing I enjoy most is a losing Sox team

NL- Braves, if not, anyone except the Dodgers or Phillies. I wont have to worry about the Mets for a couple of decades
