How and what do I do to an autographed football to make sure that the sharpie auto's don't fade?
Tell me EVERYTHING.
Thanks.

-If it is already autographed, what do i do to preserve the auto?-

Using a silver paint pen, medium tip is your best bet.

A gold one will turn greenish and a black regular Sharpie will be more likely to fade...

Sorry, I mis-understood.

If it's already signed and it's already started fading, there isn't anything to do to restore it.

If you're looking to protect it, keep it out of direct sunlite and flourescent lite. I would put in a case, preferrably one with UV protection, and keep it up where little hands can't get it. (Vermeil's grand-kids got a hold of his SB ball from when they beat the Titans  )

Also, if it's high dollar or if you have alot of other goodies around, you should consider a rider on your Home Insurance, since most policies don't give full value for sports memoriabilia...
