I rarely rant about eBay...but I would never do this to anyone and it's pissed me off.

I put that Gore/Lewis/Wayne auto on ebay. I get an offer from a Ravens collector for 80. I counter with 110. He counters with 90. I counter with 98. He sends me a message saying 90 is the highest he will go. I offer him a couple of other Ravens cards as a throw in. His message back was:

"if you have no other offers contact me back when you want to sell for 90. i cant go any higher" That was less than a week ago.

After thinking about it I thought, 'it's only eight bucks...so I message him back today telling him that I lowered the price to 90. A few hours later I get an offer of 80 so I go to the offer list...and it's the same facking person! What the ****?!?!?!

That sucks man. There's a guy with a Locker Letterman that I want who has it listed as a $300BIN/OBO. I've made a couple reasonable offers, not trying to lowball him at all, but the lowest he's come is $250, which is absurd.

I'm sorry man, but when I said I can only go to $90, I meant based on your pirce. If you lower your price, of course my offer is going to go down. Jeez, that's like ebaying 101.

;)

People suck.

Yeah, dealing with people like that, I always get nervous that they're going to do something fishy with feedback, or lying about delivery. I'd counter-offer $90 one last time, and if he doesn't take it, block him and sell to someone who isn't a dumbbell.

I did a little Best Offer tête–à–tête with a seller once. He had a BIN/BO auction at $400. It was quite a bit higher than the 2 previous sales but it was a card /5 so options were limited. I offered $225 to him which was right in between the 2 previous sales. He countered with $375. I came back at $260. He returned with $350. Seeing he wasn't coming down much I maxed out my last offer at $300. He declined it. I thought to myself, oh well he sits on it and I can offer again for a while. The next day he accepts a different Best Offer for $250. ::facepalm::

Love stupid sellers too.

Facepalm indeed lumm0x. I have yet to start buying on eBay, putting it off as long as I can. I've been able to get so many nice cards from forums but I know someday I'm going to have to join and open myself up to the idiots on there.

I would do the same thing he did unless it was extremely hard to find

you would tell a person that you will buy a card for a price and then when the person sets the price at what you said you would buy it for you would then not buy it and lower the offer more?

What is your eBay ID? I'll add you to the blocked list right along with this person.

Yes, you turned him down at $90, he is no longer obligated to be willing to buy at that price, just because you changed your mind the next week.

Really, you see it that way? I see it as the person being a liar.

No payment no deal. What don't people get about that.
I never said that it was a "deal", what happened to somebodies word being good? If I say I will pay $90 for a card then I actually mean what I say.

I wouldn't take youre word on anything regardless. OP didn't accept an offer, buyer didn't enter into an eBay "contract". No deal.

In all fairness to the buyer, if a week goes by, ones mind tends to change.

C'mon now, if I offered to buy $200 worth of autos from you and then 7 days later tell you I don't want them anymore, you'd be pissed, don't lie.

Absolutely, but I wouldn't post a thread about you being a ****** because of it... (but I mean, your affinity for eating babies is relatively well known already)
