I make stupid posts alot... but this is just dumb...

First off, go whine to the person that gave you a neutral or complain to ebay. We can't help you.

If you sell as much as you say, than maybe instead of ranting about a little neutral, you go leave feedback for others to prevent it. It isn't a negative... your life isn't over.

get feed back leave feed back. i have 3000+ nonleft feedback from sellers. seller should give the feedback 1st when payment is receved. when i buy,(it is 99.9% of the time) i wait for the seller to leave the feed back, i give it a month then i give a positive and a 1 for communication and say so in the comment area! you would not believe the messages i get from them. i replay all the time by saying this. " you have made enough time to BITCH about the comment i left you. you have enough time to LEAVE FEEDBACK! "

I don't think I'd leave a neutral because of it, but I do agree with the buyer.
I haven't sold a whole lot, but I have always left feedback as soon as I receive payment. I think its just the fair thing to do.

I agree with one point of his. As a buyer I only leave feedback once the seller did. I can not give someone a 5 for communication if they did not "communicate" to me by giving me feedback. I will not give them a neutral, negative or harm their rating in anyway, I just do not give feedback.

As a seller I give feedback the day I mail the item.

I know guys, but I'm honestly a little bit turned off by my inability to leave actual PRODUCTIVE feedback. Really, think about it. What If we could leave feedback/rate (as a seller) the amount of days to pay? What if we could be honest in our feedback--like in my case where the guy left a neg for not receiving the second card pictured? AS A SELLER YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE!!!!

Why feed a system that is broken?

Ranting here isn't going to do anything . Frankly, ranting anywhere isn't going to do anything. This is eBay. If you don't like it, try selling somewhere else.

Take it for what it's worth. Sometimes you get screwed, but on the whole, you'd never be able to sell this stuff to this type of a market.

Not worth getting all upset about.

I know it's not worth getting upset over it Jeff, but I've had a streak where I've felt taken advantage of and I just don't think it's fair. I know it's not necessarily right to not leave the feedback, but it's my right. And as hard as I work to keep a positive seller image on e-bay I feel this is a great disrespect.

Haven't you ever been fired up about something that's happened to you that was unfair in your opinion? I'm just trying to vent and at the same time put this example out there for others as a cautionary tale.

Sure. And if something could be done about it, or if it was a novel concept, that'd be fine. But this is the same ol' same ol' from eBay. Buyers want something unreasonable and they hit sellers with neg/neutral/chargebacks.

Otherwise, it's just venting. . . and while you certainly have the right to vent, it's not going to change anything. Life is not fair. eBay is not fair.

As a seller, anyone who pays me gets positive feedback. It takes 2 seconds. Literally.

As a buyer, everyone gets positive feedback if I get the card.

ebay changed it for that reason!!!!!!!! use to be you paid the seller right away and it would take 3 weeks to get the item after asking the seller WHERE IS MY CARD AFTER 2 WEEKS WITH NO RESPONCE. i would leave a big neg. then get a big neg in retaliation! some time i would get a neg before i got the card.it is wayyyyyyyy better that they changed it.

And here is part of the problem.

You paid your money. You got an invoice. You paid it. You got the card.

Why the hell do you need to communicate any more? Do you need someone to say how great you were for paying? Were you not hugged enough as a child? Why the hell do you need feedback? It's optional. To ding someone, to COST THEM MONEY (and that's what you do with a 1) because they didn't leave you feedback quickly enough, or at all, is ridiculous, when you GOT the card you paid for.

Right. So you can leave negative feedback to sellers with impunity and no worry about any type of retribution.

Here's the definition of the internet tough guy...

People are ridiculous when it comes to feedback sometimes, remember it is not required.
I had a guy email me three times reminding me to leave feedback for him in a matter of a few days, thats a little absurd to me.

+1, leaving feedback is basically how I keep track of what I have packed up.

Print label
Pack up card
Leave feedback

Not required but it would be nice to see if ppl received their item(s). I actually care that they are satisfied. Call me crazy.

C'mon, the guy got hundreds of positive feedback and didn't return. Somehow I don't think that is what ebay had in mind when they came up with the feedback system.

Personally I could care less if somebody leaves me feedback. I don't mind my number climbing but once you have a few hundred or more with 100% I don't think it makes a difference any which way.

I try to stay out of these ebay rants about feedback but I just have to wonder....
What's the big deal? I mean honestly. To me it seems like it's the same as Facebook friends. People just want to get as much as possible liek it's a contest or something. I mean I wish had had so little to worry about in life that I would care that a seller or buyer didn't leave me feedback. I just don't care. When I sell something yes I leave feedback right after payment, just to clean up my sold items and keep things organized. However I don't keep track if a seller hasn't left me feedback. I do however leave feedback after I get a card but only because it helps me remember that i actually received it. I just don't know what the big deal about feedback is, especially if you already have a good number. I guess if you're just starting out it's more important, but to me it's nothing to get upset about.
Just my 2 cents

Good for him.

Feedback is optional, with that said if the transaction was smooth stop being lazy and leave a positive. If you have time to list auctions you have time for feedback.
