I'm an Iowa Hawkeye fan but will always root for the Cyclones when they're not playing the Hawks.
This should throw a wrench in the BCS standings.

BCS is terrible. Yesterday was 5 years since the death of Bo Schembechler. Here's his response when asked about the BCS when it started in 1998:

In 1998 when the BCS first started, I read an interview with Bo Schembechler in the Detroit News where he was asked his thoughts about the new system. He said the BCS was stupid and would only cause more problems. What happens if every team has 1 or more losses? What happens if there are more than 2 undefeated teams come bowl season? What happens if every team in the top 5 has 2 or more losses? What happens if 1 team is unbeaten and the rest have 1 or more losses?

In the 13 years since that interview, every single scenario Bo brought up ended up happening. Some of them happened multiple times.

Imagine that he would. Definitely a top ten pick. Possibly a top 5.

Bama will have anywhere from 4-6 players picked in the first round next year.

That game last night wasn't even on my radar, being a 27 point spread and all.
I was shocked to turn it on and see it 24-24 in the 4th.
As someone that roots for BCS chaos, it was great to see Iowa State. close the game out and come up with the upset.

Now I hope LSU loses to either Arkansas or Georgia.......the thing would be a complete mess.
It seems the only chance things will change is if we have a few years where big programs from major conferences are getting screwed, so I'm happy this will not be another year where the BCS lucks out with things working out as nicely as they can within the current system (i.e. - getting two undefeated teams from major conferences that they can pawn off as a "championship").

Great game last night. Weeden throws for 476 but in the end, he was outplayed by the freshmen QB for Iowa St who led the team on a 17-0 second half run that forced overtime and then led the team to two more TDs in overtime. Barnett who until this game was primarily a runner, went 31-58 for 376 yards and 3 TDs. Weeden had a deer in the headlights, almost scared look, on some of the crucial plays at the end of the game and in OT. Surprising from the supposedly "mature" 28 year old Heisman candidate.

So who's next after Oregon and Oklahoma loss? Nobody outside the south wants to see a SEC National Championship game. Don't count out Oklahoma State yet, the computers seemed to love them before the loss.
