I purchased a huge collection that included several UD Ichiro autographs. Any thoughts as to whether Ichiro autographs tend to fetch higher price at auction or via BIN? I've seen some crazy prices both ways. There are 5 autographs in the lot (the sixth is staying in my PC), with three #/25 or less, one #/199, and one unnumbered (Sweet Spot).

Normally, I'm BIN/BO all the way, but I'm more willing to test the auction waters on high demand items like these. Thanks for any opinions!

Disclaimer: I have never sold on eBay.

My thought would be to put up one of the #/25 as an auction. See how it goes and then put the others up with that information in mind.

few things in todays hobby are more rare than Ichrio autographs, maybe Matsui, but you can expect to get close
to full value for them. Congrats!

I would agree with this. These cards aren't going down anytime soon and I doubt the card would undersell on auction as long as you ship worldwide (or at least to Japan as well).

Thanks for all the great input, guys. I will probably test the waters out with an auction to see how it goes.

jmagic87: The card I'm keeping for myself is a 2002 SP Authentic Excellence Ichiro/Ripken/Griffey/McGwire/Sosa/Giambi autograph.

Just my 2 cents here....

But if your going to list them all at one time, I would list each of them BIN/BO. But if you are going to slowly sell them, which may get you more in the long run as you don't want to be competing against yourself, I would list each as an auction, and spread them out over a few months.

I would keep a couple of them if you can. I'm not a fan of the grouped autos like that in terms of value. Just my two cents.

Thanks again for all the input! I had definitely planned on spreading out the sales.

And for those who were interested:

Front scan is not my card (just a sample to show what the front looks like). I'm not a huge fan of booklets or multi-sig cards (wtf, Jason Giambi?!?), but since there are no other Ripken/Griffey/McGwire/Ichiro autographs out there, it'll have to do.

Scan of the 6 sig please. And if you have the ichiro auto from 2002 UD Authentics I'd be interested.

Baseball Heroes? I don't have that one, but it's a sweet looking card. Good luck!

Well if those are the only four you care about, and as you dislike the Giambi, why not cut the bottom third off the card? Easier to store, better player selection: problem solved!

I would imagine FCB member daveyou, would be the best person to help answer your questions as he has an extensive Ichiro PC and he is always buying/selling certified Ichiro autographed Baseball cards.
