Who cares if prospecting is a business and not a hobby? And it's not a business for everyone. I bought $2500 worth of Bowman Draft stuff this year. How much have I sold? $0

Eliminate all prospect cards for the reason mentioned above. They just aren't a hobby for almost anyone. People just buy them to sell them. That is a business not a hobby.
my newest change for the hobby is for topps to cut back production of flagship series 1 and 2. It's a fun rip for a set builder like me but it's a PITA to get rid of duplicate base and unwanted inserts because there are over 100 listed for sale of each one so it's hard to get rid of them with so many of each card available for sale.
Cut production (and even number the inserts) and it should be a little easier to get rid of cards.

+1Ive said this for years. When they make the base set desirable, everything else will fall into place.
Base Topps should feel like Heritage. They should be cards, not photos.
Just to expand on how I wish base cards were more in demand.
Not too long ago, there were plenty of $5-$15 base prospects in every bc product along with auto.
Ok so you got a XXXXty auto, but got in demand and valuable base prospects.
And if the prospect cards had value, so did the Refractors, especially color.
Case in point, in 05 I got a mccutchen gold Refractor which I sold "cheaply" for $200. Non auto keep in mind.
Can you even get $50 for a Frazier or meadows gold non auto?

If you are just a collector why would it matter to you at all if the whole set was eliminated? You could just spend that money on cards of players who have already made the show! It wouldn't get rid of 'rookie cards' it would just delay them. There is just something that rubs me the wrong way about A-ball player rookie autos being more expensive than multiple time All-stars who play in the MLB. In the end I am pretty unaffected cause I don't buy the prospect cards when they are hot. Just find the whole thing ridiculous. And this is my opinion, thought that was what this thread was for.
IMHO it is incredibly immature to dislike something that someone else enjoys collecting.
Get rid of all the whining and biotching done towards those who choose to collect or enjoy the hobby in a different way.
You don't like it, we all get it. Nothing is going to change.
This will be my last post for a while.
It's to the point where coming to the board isn't even enjoyable for me any more.
The answer to the thread has to be::: bring some people to the hobby who can communicate with others, have fun, joke around and not act like a-holes all time.
Until that happens, nothing will change.
You who love to attack, attack away. I will be far removed from here. Have some fun.
The thing I don't care for with Topps is the card stock.
If I could change one thing it would be to do away with grading. It is such a silly scam, why do I need to pay somebody to tell me if a card is nice or not? I can decide for myself. The only use I can see is for people to demand a higher price for the perceived 'value added' of a high grade.
I, personally, would never own a graded card.
