Guys.... as a very fluid company, we have been reading today's commentary with great interest......

so, we are willing to listen to you guys about distribution...

How do you guys want these sold?

At this stage, we cannot offer in pack form.

There are several options however.... Please vote and use this post SOLELY for explanation of why we should do your suggestion....

Thanks... BG

I'm not sure if many people use ThePit, but the Uncirculated cards that Topps offered back in 2004 were a big hit.

If they do goto ThePit or fixed price on eBay, are they all going to be the same price (to start off with) or will you decide which cards are worth more?

And for the eBay poll option, for the parallels, do you mean standard auction or dutch auction? I think dutch auction would be cool, let bidding end where it may, and the buyer gets a random card. It would be like buying a pack, you might end up with a money card.

I think the pit is perfect for the base at the very least. To be able to buy and sell these online without paying for shipping every time makes it much easier to move them and make a profit on them.

Is it too late to use them to put into Letterman as inserts? Or make a whole other set with these?

thepit.com has been dead to me since Topps dumped it so I voted for eBay. My only concern is that in an eBay auction one person is going to be able to come in and swipe all the cards of a given player at once. During a dutch auction, can you limit the number of cards a person can buy at a time?

How about giving them away say in a contest of some kind.

I voted for the pit.

to clairy....

iF ON EBAY ONLY...

All parallels would be sold by dutch auction... for example, there are 50 blue base of each player... They would be put in one ebay auction for $7.50 minimum bid lets say.... The bidders for the top 50 cards total would win the cards at whatever the 50th card was bid at, so you could bid $50 on a card but if the 50th one sold at $15, all 50 cards are won at $15...

All base would be put up with fixed price.... we would make up to maximum quantity produced available and whatever sold with 30 days would be final production.. no further cards released....

does this make sense????

lets say wossa offered bid $10 each on all 50 blue poseys....
and you bid $50 for one.... you would get your 1 at $50 and he'd get the rest at $10...

This is MUCH more fair way to distribute than pit.com with no controls... BG

Based on this explanation, I chose the lesser of two evils [the Pit].

On the pit.com, one guy can buy all 50 instantly and its over... how is this better????? At least on ebay, you can outbid a quantitiy buyer...

Initially we were told these would be distributed via thepit. To prepare for the release, I put cash into my brand spankin new account on thepit. If these go to EBay, there goes my funds.

I like the idea of thepit.com for a couple reasons:
#1 Distribution can be fair. We all know about certain EBay members with too much money and time who will suck all these up and relist at stupid prices. Thepit lets allocations be set per account.
#2 Its different. Not everyone knows about thepit and I'm sure those of us on here aren't going around spreading the word about the release of Razor cards there right? FCB members have always wanted an "exclusive"...well you have first shot at knowing and preparing for this release.
#3 BG already told the powers that be at thepit about the release of Razor cards there. How would it look if he suddenly backed out and said, sorry just using EBay instead? Besides, selling your own wares on EBay does look bad.
#4 It works. How many people loved the Bowman Chrome Green refractors that were released on thepit in '05? These are scarce due to the distribution method and did not lower the value of the other chrome parallels.

One more comment before I shut up and and disappear again...FCB members were told about thepit.com "metal" releases a long time ago. Why are these complaints just now being brought up? I specifically remember everyone being thrilled about possible chrome-type versions and possible color parallels of sig series, now all of a sudden there are complaints about this affecting the base cards?

The whole catch here is the average prospector is worried about the base autos dropping in value due to metal releases. Well, lets worry about the autos when time comes - because as seen with other brands thepit cards are seen in a different light than pack released autos. Right now, only metal versions of the base cards are being discussed, and I don't see people stocking up on base cards to sell for a profit later, only the autos. This release is a good thing if the numbers are kept low and thepit.com is used to sell them, much like the green refractors in Chrome.

And we all agree they look great, right?

It's quite simple.

You do exactly what etopps did -- create an allocation system, to ensure that could never happen. You have from Monday of that week until Saturday night to place your order. You get an email stating how many you were allocated.

Not only did it help multiple buyers get cards they ordered, but it also set up the secondary market fairly well.

Go to etopps website and see what I am talking about....
